I am looking at a Modena from a certified dealership (F of New England) and I was informed the bumper was re-sprayed. I was told this was a normal practice. Would you agree? How does this affect resale?

The bumper has two "parts". The body-colored part and the black part underneath where you'd put skid guards.

    Which part was repainted?

There's nothing wrong if the black part was resprayed... it's very common for 360/430's to scrape there. I had the black part on my 360 resprayed twice.

If it's the painted part... that's not necessarily bad either as it's the place where you get the most road-rash, but you need to make sure they did a first-rate job (no over spray, drips and that they used color matched paint).

No big deal. It is common. As long as it was done properly, it's not a negative.

No long as its not hiding structural damage.

A full front bumper respray is very commom among any Ferrari. They are wide and lie low and therefore easily chipped during fast driving. A bumper respray done well does not affect resale value.

Sorry you didnt understand cig1 try this :

Try findng one that hasnt been!!!!!! (what I meant is that most of them have been painted and you will struggle to find one that hasnt been painted)

Increase value in my view as it wont have stone chips all over it! (surely this is self explanatory!)

Like the others have said, very normal. These cars get stone chips very easy, just get it clear armored and you won't have to do it again.

I bought a 360 from Ferrari NE in Nov 07 and insisted they have the front bumper repainted to remove normal road rash. They did an outstanding job. I did have them apply a 3M bra as well.

If the car has EVER been driven even a few miles the way it was meant to be driven, then yes you're going to get some knicks and dings in the bumper. Completely normal to spray front. Now if its the fenders or any other part of the body............ further due diligence is needed.
