When he worked on my engine conversion I had a feeling there was a mad genius in there.

I don’t know anything about building an engine like that. So this isn’t criticism. But doesn’t all that stuff have to be extremely precise? It seems like he’s just winging stuff.

FWIW it was over here too when he started it. I don't remember what the falling out was about but it was big news at the time.

I cannot believe he is still at that build. I thought he dropped it a long time ago. I must tip my hat to him. Even after all the drama.

… so, there must be some sort of a 'well known' (perhaps to a few folks) back-story going on here on this deal, eh?

Man, I just read that start to finish and...

An absolute marvel of brute force and genius...this guy put so many square pegs into round holes while doing this, it boggles my mind! Respectful hat-tip...

mke was (is) a good guy. He was a regular here and before this project he supercharged his stock 308 motor. The threads must still be here. He then went with the 400 motor, and around that time left this site, I don't recall what the drama was all about but there was a "less receptive" fan base back then with little tolerance for doing anything non-factory/oem to the brand.

He was very knowledgeable and I had many PMs with him about different engine topics, and he was always willing to answer my questions.

Mike was a good guy. I do not believe his issues were with any posters, most or all were supportive. It was the forum itself if I recall.

His name is Mark Eberhardt,,he is a surgical device engineer. Mark made a hovercraft out of a childs inflatable pool..lawn mower engine,he made the propeller IIRC out of wood,,he got it to lift off but since mk e was 12 and 85lbs he doesn't really think much about it.
mk e did my manifolds and feul rails for efi on 51857,
    really tidy
i think he got into a "yellow fire melts steel" discussion with FC Brass,,
and mk e IS a Master welder fabricator
Now he is very advanced in engine management programming and because his V12,400 block,,TR heads is sooooo way over the top he needs sophisticated EM,,
