Valentino Rossi announces retirement

Whoa! Sad to hear it, he's been around for a while. Have to pass this tidbit on to my dad. He's followed his career for years.

How strange to think of a MotoGP world without "the Doctor". How wonderful to sit back and think about all he has accomplished. As fans, we were lucky to have him as long as we did.

 

It had to be. He didn´t have a top seat and it didn´t look that he was going to get one anytime soon.

 

The consensus seems to be that he will end up driving sports cars in GTE Pro.

It would be great to see one more of his race win celebrations, but that is unlikely. Look forward to seeing him one more time at COTA. Does Rossi show up at Tornado Boot Camp post Austin GP??

 

There's a clip of him running into Pedrosa in the paddock and saying "I'll be racing cars next year, not yet sure which."

To which Dani replies "It would be too big a change not racing"

 

Thought Rossi was going to field his own team in MotoGP.

Is that still on?
