Curious, when you guys arrive at the hotel how is the parking situation?
At the Paris it's always been roped off for us by the time we drove in. Haven't had an issue since I've been going the last couple of years.
One of the main reasons we stay at the Paris/Ballys is because of the secure covered parking. The hotel has been very "exotic car" friendly during the past few years. Security is excellent.
I agree, the security is very good there. On the run last year, I had some friends staying at Planet Hollywood that wanted to see the cars. We walked out to where the cars were parked in the structure and within 15 seconds, a security guard rode up on a bike, said he saw us on a camera, to see what we were up to. It made me feel pretty safe to park there.
Eric - What are your plans for a departure time/place? I've spoken to a few people and some are planning to leave EARLY on Thursday morning (5am) and others can't leave until after work on Thursday evening. I guess the best thing is to choose ONE group departure time/place and whoever can't make it is on their own.
The times listed above by Eric are consistent with past years and IMO we should stay with this schedule
Agreed - trying to do something different wreaks havoc It looks like we pretty much have the final group list - I will PM everyone on the list this weekend with departure details, maps, checklist, etc. Those that aren't able to meet with the main group's departure times/points will have the info they need to meet up with us.
We welcome all drivers traveling on the 210 E or 57 N to stop by our home in La Verne for early morning breakfast before we meet up in Ontario at 10. If you are interested, please send me an email with contact info.
How about a meeting place in Barstow also for those of us coming over on 58 from Bakersfield to meet up with you guys on Thursday
We usually have two gas/pit stops along the way; can someone refresh my memory where we stopped in the past? Sam, I can give you an approximate ETA on our first pit stop and location - would that work for you guys?
Eric - Barstow was stop #1. We usually departed the Ontario Mills Mall at 10am and made it to Barstow by about 11:15. 15 minutes there and on the road again at 11:30. One more stop usually around Baker. Arrival in Vegas around 2pm. If we are meeting at 10am we probably wouldn't get on the road until 10:30am so everything would be pushed back 30 minutes.
