Hi all, I will be visiting Kauai with my family ( bringing wife, 5 year old son, and 7 year old daughter). A friend has recommended activities like Helicopter rides, ATV rides, etc. Any specific recommendations for a family vacation?

There is an inner tube rafting trip that goes down the old irrigation flumes for that is quite memorable. Your kids will love it. Try and check out Kokee park too but it's mostly a car drive with incredible scenery. You may find some nice hikes up there that can break up the journey.

Up by Princeville there is a ziplining place that is fun. If the weather is clear the Helo rides out of Princeville are fun too.

Down south, I think Port Allen there are boat rides up the west coast almost back up to Princeville that are fun but it can get a little rough and if anyone can't tolerate a couple of hours getting tossed around a bit that's no longer fun.

Rum tasting at Koloa Rum for the adults.

Chocolate farm tour in the hills above Kapaa is educational for all. Lot of cool info about chocolate and the local flora.

Lighthouse at northern tip at Kilauea. Interesting history of the area. On the way in/out you will pass a small shopping area. Good restaurant there. Cant remember name.

Drive to the end of the highway past Princeville. Lots to see.

From Waimea there is a road up into the State Park. Nice drive, great views and the state park has some beautiful look out points of the canyons.

Bring rain gear. North shore gets Biblical rain. Won't be cold but you will get wet.

Kauai is beautiful. Was just there last month. Go to Koloa zipline. 9 zip lines and longest in the state... 1/2 mile line. Be sure to upgrade to the superman harness for more fun :)

Just returned from Kauai / Princeville
Here is what we liked and liked a little less.
Restaurant - great sushi, seafood and filet mignon burger "The dolphin" in hanalei
Only do the Napali coast tour on the big catamarans 65-0 anything less is really really rough.
On a calm day we did the tour in a 32-0 power cat and still had 8-0 swells. Not Fun!

Hanalei bay is great for everything paddle boarding etc...shopping, coffee
    Snorkeling - tunnels beach
Anini I beach great for kids and no one is there.

Rent a car and go explore
    Have a great time!
