Give some people a little power and the ability to hide behind a keyboard and you can get hit with a whole lot of undeserved ugliness and bullying by people who think they're smarter than you . Ask me how I know?

This being said, Fchat is a privately owned business and if you want to be a part of it, you have to take the good with the bad (or what you interpret as bad).

If Vraiment is such an accomplished person, does he seriously need validation from a chat room website? I mean, not to discredit this place but it's a chat room....who cares?

I used to consider it an important place and got all wrapped up in trying to be accepted and embraced. I gave my absolute best efforts to become a moderator by remaining dead-honest, expose hypocrisy whenever I see it and be a part of it with nothing but good faith and pure intentions. I was ridiculed and made fun of, labelled crazy and accused of having a meltdown. I was also guilty of trying to garner support for my candidacy, got labelled with being too popular, too motivated and too eager (which are supposedly bad things).

I've made many friends here (real people that I met face-to-face who actually know me for real) and only they know the true nature of a person, not what you interpret from posts. So I am thankful for that but I got over it and now just post once in a while when I'm in the mood, not daily like I used to be. the enthusiasm has been sort of tarnished....I learned a lot here and tried to teach others what I learned when they need help. I know a lot of people just like me and some who are a whole lot more knowledgeable than me that have left, but others will stay, new ones will come, it's a cycle.

Best thing is live your life, be good to your family, your friends and get all the love from them an give it back to people in need by helping out society (charity, volunteering), that's what matters in life (and seems to be exactly what Vraiment is doing), not a title on a chat room website. Looks like vraiment has more than enough respect from the Ferrari community and this title isn't something he needs, let it go to someone else who is a more "wide-ranged" poster on several sections of this site and still has the motivation to contribute.

exactly! but I think you just painted yourself a little. Vraiment didn't ask to be nominated, so many from FOG nominated him, so many from FOG voted for him, so many from FOG came to fight for him to the death how that "FerrariChat.com Ambassador" award should be renamed "FOG Ambassador" or at least "Ferrari Ambassador". I have a feeling that Vraiment cringed through all of it.

I agree 100%, someone who cringes from too much online attention is just not the right fit to become an ambassador of an online community. You have to sort of be a spotlight-seeker to a certain extent...

I wish that was true, but it's not, and it has resulted in some unpleasantness in the past, and not just for me. My full name has been posted here plenty of times, some of those times in retribution for comments I made in the Aussie section, by a former moderator of this site.

That eventually lead to my getting not one, but several threatening phone messages at work from a member here who ended up in jail (obviously unrelated to my interaction with him.)

I make it my absolute policy not to use a member's last name here, no matter what the circumstance, even if their profile lists it. Just a courtesy that everyone here should extend to ALL the membership, even if one disagrees with their point of view or is in a heated argument with said same.
