LOL just looked at the address on that ad and realised that was the shop where my then husband and I very nearly spent the money that was going to pay for our first block of land on a 308; we spent the whole of one Sunday with our noses pressed up against the glass. $26,000 at the time (1985 ish)

Removed some more off topic posts in this thread - another reminder to keep it on topic, forget references to spa's, fat dogs etc.

19153 is no longer in Australia, had quite a few owners here.
Was for sale at Silverstone Auctions UK March 2016, from the the Auction listing.
"This right-hand drive Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer, chassis number 19153, according to the inside of the Owner's handbook, was delivered new to a Mr Ivan Butterworth of Melbourne, Australia. Other records indicate that the car was later owned by a Mr Graeme Rapier, in Australia. The odometer currently reads 730 kilometres. Since being in the UK, the car has been in the care of renowned Ferrari specialists Foskers, who had it fully resprayed in the correct Rosso Chiaro and have detailed the Nero leather interior. The engine was fully serviced, new cambelts fitted and the brakes received appropriate attention, and the car was prepared to be returned to the road. The account for all this work totalled in excess of £25,000. Accompanying the car is an owner's handbook, tool roll and tool kit in its fitted attache case.
Currently on a NOVA number with UK taxes settled, the new owner will need to register the car with the DVLA."

Perhaps 6591. The interior looks red to me. 6591 was Amaranto 19379 It./Rosso Scuro VM 893 when new. It was sold to Frank Cavanagh, later inherited by son, Ron Cavanagh, who still owned it in 1993. Then it went to Ken Bromley who did an extensive restoration and painted it silver, keeping the red interior.

You might be on to something. The car in Carl's very first pic is dark red. 5991 was originally silver and repainted in a bright red (and had the nose job). Great to see it (5991 not 6591) back to original spec. BTW.

At this point I might also once again take the opportunity to thank Simon for letting me drive his 330GT on a carby run back in the day. First Ferrari I ever drove, and I remain grateful for the opportunity (and I remain grateful to Ian as well, who very generously let me have a drive of his Daytona on the same run).

    My pleasure Roman.
Best part of being a keeper of these and other brands is the sharing.
The look on mums and dads faces when you say their kids can have a sit behind the wheel is memorable.

One of my best was a mate I took for a quick run in the 330 and pulled over,he sez 'what's wrong',I sez 'nuthin' you're driving'...the look on his face was priceless!...as it happens he,his missus and their Lotus Europa have relocated to threewoomba!

    Dan,

#17941. if you look carefully you can see the rear clamshell is that of a 512BB. When the car was damaged and repaired, only a 512BB rear was available. Here is the car photographed in December 2020, carburettor run.

You'll notice it has no fuel filler flap on the LHS, you must open the deck to fill it.

Early in the cars history it was involved in a big accident.
J M bought the car and ordered a new panels for it. When the crate was opened, 512BB bodywork was inside it. So it looks like a 512BB but has the 365BB drivetrain and chassis. A Well known property developer in the 1980's owned it and then it went to J. C. who added the batmobile appendages. There were several changes of ownership before being again completely restored at the renowned specialists Piccola Scuderia of Sydney between April 2008 and February 2010. Invoices detail the almost $200,000 work carried out on this car by Piccola Scuderia. Victorian ownership since 2012.

Cheers Horse, I'm finding some absolute gems flicking through the old UC mags. Cars that you just wouldn't see advertised 'for sale' these days.... now traded privately or up for auction with telephone number estimates!

Thanks Carl and Mike for the history. I know the car now I have joined the dots! It's certainly not a garage queen and provides plenty of enjoyment per mile for the current owners.

    "renowned specialists Piccola Scuderia" LOL.

How many Ferrari repairers in the 80's were in the recreational pharmaceuticals game? I can name 3.

My recollection is the car was originally owned by Theiss and fell off a car transporter truck.
