    Just a piece of good information in almost dead forum :)

    My hobby recently demanded really fast, multi-threaded PC on a budget. Waiting minutes for rendering/compilation makes me mad. After all research, went with older i9-10980XE on x299 platform. This stuff is incredibly crazy fast! If you need video editing / streaming / dev computer look no further. Motherboard I got close to free from ebay with bent pins (I can fix that in 30min), cpu is 1k. 36 threads:

    define 'budget'.

    I've built about 50 PC's for friends, after the Pentium 1000~ came out, I stopped.
    Intel made so many variations of the same processors I gave up, 1998 or so.
