i didn't get to wash my Scud before putting it away this winter. Today was warm enough so I washed it outside. Buckets with warm water and very cold water from the hose. She's back in the warm garage for jewelers polish with the Rupes and a good coat of wax. Can't wait until spring! It's been a nasty winter here.

Did an oil change on my 308 yesterday. 458 next. Let's hope it holds up for a while. But I think we all know the answer to that unfortunately :(

Took the 308 out to Bradan on Friday, Took the 355 for a quick errand yesterday & today - the driver seat rocks so I pulled it out to tighten the impossible to get at allen bolts. While it was out, decided to take a look at the seat belt retractor & used a carpet cleaner on the driver side. Wow, what a pile of junk under the seat. I'm amazed at how much dirt comes of out seemingly clean carpets.

No salt by you Clyde? We are loaded here on LI. It’s like dust. The car in front of you hits it and creates a salt cloud.

I know, I know. I of course thought of that when I had it back in the garage. Started masking it this morning in prep for polishing.

Yeah, there's salt. No, I shouldn't have. The salt wasn't terrible. But I couldn't resist after months in hibernation.

I hear you. I’m tempted as well. But I don’t have my water on outside though so I can’t wash it.

Today was like a Spring day in my part of NJ. Took my 355 out for a spirited 30mi drive on I78. Lots of classics out, bikes and even pampered Boxsters.. Why bother pampering/saving that specific Porsche mass production model; I personally like them and know they're great on track in stock form, but collector cars they are not.

It's been a tough winter to get cars washed coming in, we have been fighting an ice sheet from washing cars at the back door in the shop. I love the Ropes machine especially on single stage cars with mezerna

Thanks Bradan. I'm using the Rupes too but trying Jescar Micro Finishing Polish. My paint is in very good shape and I think I can get away with one pass with the polish.

It looks that way keep it up! Detailers domain has some great products and pads for the Rupes, we use it mostly on single stage cars to avoid removing any paint.

I plan to use the white finishing pads. I need the new Rupes 1-1/2” buffer (forget the model #) but the $ is crazy big for a small tool.

Yeah it looks great for something like a F355 decklid or a testarossa door fin. I'll stick to a simple air powered grinder with a polish disc for now until the pricing comes down.
