Water spots on Black Exterior Parts (Aluminum)

    Hi everyone - new to Ferrari (used California) and one of the things that's been driving me crazy is getting the waters spots off the black aluminum behind the back license plate. Painting it or using carbon fiber to mask it seemed pricey and wasn't much better looking than the stock black. I used stainless steel whips (for my kitchen appliances) and it looks brand new. This is a hack so the purist may have other ideas.
    Previous cars: Trackhawk (never thought I'd every say my Jeep will straight-line my Ferrari)... lowered, cutouts, resonator delete, cool air intake), AMG S63 Coupe, Audi RS5, BMW M5 (Dinan S2, V10).
