First Gin and Tonic of the year. I have a tradition of waiting for opening day of Phillies' season. Cheers!
Sangrita. A sweet, salty, spicy mix I bought a the local Mexican Mercado. One part tequila, two parts Sangrita, and three parts grapefruit soda. Quite refreshing! Image Unavailable, Please Login
For some reason Quarter Cask was only 2 dollars more than Select at the store today so tonight I shall be relishing the sensation of getting whacked in the face by a 2x4. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bullett old fashion. pretty, pretty, pretty. good. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bulleitt is one of my go-tos for an ol fashy because nearly EVERYONE has it on the shelf even over in Italy (though admittedly it's spritzes and wine 99% of the time there) Tonight no photos because house is a bit disheveled but Blanton's SFTB for me. Gift from an incredibly generous fella I do hope to meet up with in person one of these days.
I got similar news from A. Smith Bowman today. I remain unconcerned, as I have plenty of unicorns in the basement waiting another year-ish til we're established in CO post-retirement.....and also because we're headed to New Orleans for our 20th and I know some of my whiskey friends are planning to bring ridiculously nice things. Joke's on them, I'm taking an EHT Single Barrel and an Elijah grenade to share.
Bombay gin martini, slightly dirty and straight up. Paired with a spotted cow beer. I wasn't sure which one I wanted so I compromised and had both. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’ll taste compare between mojitos made with grapefruit mint or strawberry mint. Any suggestions of what’s the best white rum to use? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm a huge fan of Lost Ark in Columbia MD (an old friend is the master distiller and the whole place is family-owned) but IDK if his stuff is in NJ (though some things he contract-distills for some global names are definitely on the shelves everywhere). havana club 3 yr is pretty reasonably-obtained and makes a good one. Probitas or Plantation 3-star are excellent choices as well. flor de cana and real mccoy 3 as well. all depends on what you can get your hands on i spose. not sure how close you are to an uncorrupt state (or at least less corrupt--and i'm in MD so don't take it personally I absolutely feel your pain lol) but something in that lineup should be findable. maybe koloa? do you get that in NJ?

I planned on having that bottle of sake with some sushi then going to bed, but after seeing the 812 successor I think I need to break out the moonshine because whiskey won't fill the wound I am feeling Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Here’s my mis en place for mojitos-will decide when I pick the mint which one I’ll choose, strawberry or grapefruit. I prefer club soda for this as it has a touch of salt and usually stronger carbonation than seltzer. The Allegrini Valpolicella we’ll have with tri-tip at dinner. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think Allegrini produces terrific wines for the price point. Always a great value . I probably have 18-20 bottles of their different labels in my everyday rack. Cheers!
