Bought a nice low-mile original 308 GTS from an older private owner recently, but it only has the large tool roll (jack, bulbs, etc. everything there) and an owner's manual from a GTBi/GTSi model. No pouch. Luckily it has a stack of records and the original window sticker.

I've seen some 308GTS's on eBay pictured with two tool rolls ~ the 'big one' and a smaller one with screw drivers and hand tools. Is the small roll standard for the '79?...or at least is not having one going to hurt me whenever I resell?

Being the anal perfectionist I need to gather everything it should have as far as purists would recommend. If the day this car was delivered I were to flip it upside down and shake it, what would have fallen out? That's the list I need to complete.

    Targa top pouch?
Owner's pouch? (what was in these at time of delivery?)
    Tool Rolls?
    Factory car cover?
    Key set? (how many keys?)
Any other goodies the car would have come with?

Of course after everyone replies, my next question will be "where do I get these items?".

    Thanks to everyone in advance!

    Tom

Does this happen to be a red car out of Amelia Island?

Somebody walked off with my owner's manual for my GTBi at the Concurso Italiano a couple of years ago. :(

If you're interested in letting your own, incorrect-for-your-car manual go, please PM.

There is a thread here somewhere about correct 308 tool kit. You can get these from www.ferraripartsexchange.com, or a very accurate repro from superformance.co.uk.

These also show up on eBay regularly, although some are incomplete, and often the sellers want unreasonable prices for the complete ones.

Nope, it was kind of a barn-find in Lakeland, FL. The old fellow posted the ad in Craig's List on a Friday night. I talked to him Friday night and was at his door step with cold hard cash the next morning. His phone didn't stop ringing with calls on the car the whole time I was with him. I couldn't get him to count the cash on his kitchen counter fast enough. Some bozo was trying to convince him to stop the transaction and he'd give him $1000 more than his asking price...sight unseen. He is an ethical chap and finished the deal with me even though I stole the car. I might as well have had a gun and a mask I stole it so cheap. The car runs stronger/tighter than the QV 308 I have. The car will be in the Ferrari show here in Sarasota, Feb 13th, 14, 15th.

Thanks Bradley! The owners manual that came with the car is pretty ratty. The cover is icky, although it seems all the pages are there. Certainly not a manual for a show car. I think people would even heckle me if I tried selling it on eBay.

As you note it's not so much about resale as it is having it "complete"..

Ferrari UK at one time had the 328 tool rolls at a good price, add your carb tool and you have it..pic below..

    Figure it's worth $500.00USD
