Many votes for black and I've been thinking about it, but think I will just stick to white. Black will be good to look cleaner and hide brake dust, but white makes the wheels stand out instead of just a one piece look of tire/black.
Rob: totally the right choice. Although its difficult to keep clean, the white is amazing looking. Also, you have an historic car with the best race history, and I think you should preserve the stock look.
black.....get them done at wheel technologies in carrollton......100 ish per wheel powder coated, they'll look brand new, very durable
I just went conservative, same old white. They are back at Norwoods now as car gets major finished. Wheels America quoted $125 a wheel, called me after 24 hours that they didn't like the way they came out and went back to redo them, and some how final invoice for 13 wheels with tax came out to $1,250. I'll take it. 2 slightly bent GranSport wheels and 1 little road rash cost $600 through the dealer.
too late, they are painted, but sure I will have to do it again in 5 years. you can start the campaign for black now.
Rob...where your wheels painted or powder coated? If painted I was wondering how the paint holds up to road debri, tire changing, and thermal cycling?
I had it done at Wheels America, which is owned by Bob Stretch, very very good Club and Pro racer. Below link you will find information on their race wheel service, it says powder coating doesn't hold up to racing conditions. http://www.wheelsamerica.com/index.php?page=racing_a_t
Had mine powdercoated with a texture to help hold up to road conditions... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
