If Ferrari is super model, then Skyline GT-R is a stripper. I guess it all comes down to what you like. Anyways I would love to know what Ferrari owners think of Skyline GT-R. Would you ever buy one? My dream set up is to have 360 Modena spyder as my weekend car and have daily driver as Skyline GT-R.

P.S - here is Mins's tuned skyline GTR

Well, depends on how you look at it... The GT-R is an amazing car... the R32's and 3's are still heavily favored in japanese tuning... but the R34 is very aggressive too! The GT-R as a daily driver might be too much car to drive around town in... I would have a 360 spider as a daily and a GT-R as a dedicated track car. Now THAT is a good combination!

I personally love the styling of the R33 and 34 GT-Rs. Very agressive but great lines at the same time. The fact that they have the capability of putting out over 1000bhp is not a bad selling point either;). It will be interesting to see what they do for the R35 version.

What a great video! I am glad the translation was provided considering the driver's impressions were hilarious.

I know these have not been legal or sold in the US, but why is that?

Nissan built the only fro RHD markets (i.e., UK, Australia and Japan) -- they were never meant to be imported to any other countries. Motorex is a big time importer here in the U.S., and they did the crashtesting/dot cert/epa to get the car legal.

    Hubert,

Thanks for informing me about Motorex, I am browsing the site right now. It looks like they don't have any in stock at the moment. Any idea about how much these run for?

    the r34's are ~ 80k
    the r33's are ~ 50k
    the r32's are ~ 30k

those are ballpark figures drummed up from memory, and only apply to the v-spec gtr's. they usually don't stock the cars, but rather take a deposit and import the car for you. overall, if you peruse ebay japan, you'll see that there's a hefty markup added to the price of the imported car, but that's how it goes. that actory from fast and furious bought a car from them, but i think he ended up returning it... don't remember the details.

What are the HP numbers for the cars? The design doesn't win me over vs. a Supra, NSX, or Rx7, but it does appear very fast and rare for America.

the gtr's are "rated" at 280hp, but that's a pharse imposed under a japanese auto manufactures "gentlemen's agreement" to not publish figures higher than 280 as a courtesy to customers, as they pay huge ins. premiums if the car is rated over 280. they make much more.

I think they are agressive looking (my fave is the Nismo 400R, a modified R33 with 400bhp from the factory) and they are tech wonders, but they just aren't very evocative for me. Some of the design and tech used for the V35 GTR concept is really awesome though.

If the Lambo is an escort the McLaren F1 is a sugarmama!
