As this is an ex-Manfred Lampe car then I think it is probably correct. Manfred told me that he had done a lot of research into the tangled histories of these cars with the help of Ferrari. I would think that Manfred knows the accurate history of the 512s.

    I know Manfred :)
But not everything what brokers write is correct (like the descriptions on 550GTS)....in this case if he copied and pasted the info from Manfred, yeah then it should be okay :)

Any thoughts on what a recreation with original engine/trans would fetch today? I've heard there are replicas out of Germany that are selling for +/-$1.5M but haven't been able to dig anything up.

As usual the Dix Mille Tours were a superb Patrick Peter event. With wonderful weather , the best way to conclude the season. We came with 4 mechanics and 3 cars to race [others were 2 Alfa , a TZ and a GTA] and one to commute to a charming village not far away with delicious food [one star Michelin] and a view to enjoy [pictured]. Races were also enjoyable, with cars used safely but as they were intended to ie 5 to 7500rpm. Not too many problems but mechanics had to take off gearbox of the 512 during the evening to release the internal spring of the clutch , a real tour de force, and new tires did not perform as well as the old ones,,,and had time to chat with lot of others including Emmanuel Pirro -pictured Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login in the Alfa 33 - who is such a wonderful champion and a nice person.

I see 1030R attended the event as well.
It is now in 1002 disguise.
