I think a topic on BB versus Dino values (and/or Daytona, 911 Carrera, etc.) could be of interest to many and I would encourage others to start such a discussion - but please don't hijack this thread which is intended to be focused purely on "What has happened to Dino values!!!". Personally I prefer to read about specific topics and whilst I am interested in what Dino values are doing at the moment, their comparison to the value of other cars is of little interest to me. And its not just me - the OP focused his thread specifically on Dino values and most other posters have followed on, and at the moment this is one of the most popular threads within the 206/246 section. Based on the above, I am suggesting that if others wish to discuss how a BB drives, or what colour Daytona that they might aspire to own, that they post such musings elsewhere.
Personally David, while your contributions make some sense, perhaps you are a touch too stern and severe. I do not have the pleasure to have met you in person, but for someone that has 68 posts in 6 years, you are not extremely involved, I dare say, in this Ferrari chat. Possibly you read, more than you write, or potentially you are not interested, as in another space frame. Here, we tend to be slightly more involved, and not so hypercritical of hijacking, as you forcefully put. At times, yes, when it is really needed. It is a friendly, slightly opinionated, version of Dino values, and by sheer luck of the draw, vis-a-vis other cars. Why not? You are the only one to complain. Is it such a sore issue? We are not talking about favourite colours or blondes or brunettes, we are having a creative talk, period. It is a is if I were to jibe you about your stable, which on this site no-one is awfully impressed about, at least I am not, and all you are aware of me, is only superficial, whereas you prefer to bare it all, or most. And as you will discover, we, for the mast part are reticent about our pride in ownership. Musing? Not really. Yet you state:"I know you BB-owners are jealous ( really, you really really know, for a fact?) that whilst Dino values have climbed over the last few years, that BB-values have declined - but posting in this thread on how great-a-car BB's are will not increase the value of the BB. Its low value versus the Dino is driven by the fact that buyers rate the Dino higher than a BB." What the heck is that all, about anyhow? Penis envy is only for girls You think I care if my etceterini is worth more or less? This is only (friendly) opinions, or are you OP's saving grace? I am surprised you do not denigrate my posting a photo of a lowly Alfa, on a Ferrari chat, (no less) worth more and much rarer that your Dino? And I hate to make statements as x the Alfa, but you do have a talent to bring out dreary sentiments. Just poke around some of your poetic musings on other sections, and you do come across as a tad sore. Relax, really, we have enough of a crazy world as it were. Regards, Alberto
Naah, since there are and will always be those for whom the (perceived) value of an object is more important than the object itself, this will (unfortunately) linger on for an eternity, just like that "bubble burst" thread in Vintage Market and others like it.
My car has an undertray grill/mesh that appears to have the same diamond pattern as this photo; it was inserted in a sort of “over-under” fashion to hold it in place, which looked a little awkward (sorry car is not with me for photo). Does anyone know how these mesh grills were secured? I was not aware it was original. I can’t Imagine that the over-under on my car was how it was done). Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
If you notice the two screws on the sides holding the cover on, there are washers on the inside that hold the mesh in place. If you remove the cover you replace the screws by themselves and the washers still hold the mesh inplace.
The Argento Auteil car in post #236 above is a very tired example that would require a significant amount of money to bring up to standard. There are many detailed photo's of it here https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1972-ferrari-dino-246-gt-3

Is odd. Many photos of parts on a blanket but not installed in car - like fuel or AC system only shown old pieces not what is installed. The many important photos are missing, many triviale. Elon musk asked twitter board and they responded with the flood of data to overwhelm rather than inform. is same? Some snaps from a 330 GT are shown - why, only to add volume?
So? If it is repainted a color offered by the factory for that model and year there is zero deduction at judging. If I am incorrect in that, will someone post the relevant Ferrari judging standards? The original color doesn’t appear to do the car any favors, IMO. The new color is lovely.
Grigio Notte Metallizzato was a Dino color, with 4 Dino's in that color. Original colors are more of a Porsche thing and generally have no effect on values as long as it "close" to an original color offered.
