Not good for a solid lifter cam engine to sit long and not be driven. Makes more of a startup racket than hydraulic lifters that retain some oil when sitting.
Why would a seller want to keep their car "off market"? Wouldn't that significantly reduce the amount they get for it or increase the time it takes to sell?
the tdf is so mileage sensitive that it's essentially undrivable unless you can psychologically detach yourself from it if you have a delivery mile car then it's going to cost you roughly $70 a mile just going from manchester to london and back (a journey I often make) would take ~$30k off the value it's frustrating that people have this mentality towards low mileage cars when the reality is that condition is all that's really relevant
I need to stop reading this thread....to me the TDF is (maybe) the only modern Ferrari that checks ALL the boxes.
Thats my perspective exactly - throw in pot holes and 55 mph speed limits id rather have a delivery mile tdf in 5 or 10 yrs than one with 8k miles when i have a dozen other cars i can put miles on.
The most common sense and accurate post here - I am 100% in agreement and feel exactly the same with my car. I have other ways that I make money - this is a hobby and way to enjoy myself. Getting so hung up about the financial side of this would kill any fun for me and become work. If you can’t be comfortable with the financial side of a car depreciating then buy a cheaper car..
