My 85 308 QV has ~83k on it. Runs absolutely flawless. Has been serviced regularly (good documentation). No rattles even. I am sure I will hit more then 100k before I sell it.

Sorry to repeat myslef yet it seems the higher milage cars appear to drive better per se. As ?Doody? sez: Drive it like you stole it.

FYI: Work at home so all 6k Fcar miles last year were strictly for fun :) My "work/winter car" accrued only 3k miles last year.

    The plot thickens :)

    Enjoy the Drive,

    Steven R. Rochlin

I recall Martin having been part of a transaction last month where one of the cars was a 355 spider (black I believe) with 129K on the clock, that is the most I had seen in person or on F-chat until today!

In a forza edition with the 400I buys guide, not sure of the issue, but apparently somewhere in Arizona there was a gentleman who had a 82 or 84 400 with 400,000 miles on it.

Boy, do I ever rest my case: there are a myriad of Porsches out there with well over 100,000 miles, and if someone has a Ferrari it appears that it is remarkable if they go beyond 60 or 80,000.

I think that the Ferrari is able to go to 150,000 and more, but it seems the owners are so afraid to drive their cars. Why, then are Porsche owners no the least bit embarrassed to report 170 or 200,000 miles?

    I just don't get it

The car had 102,000 Miles on it and indeed ran excellent. Faster than any 355 Spider I have driven before. Better yet, the car was owned and driven all of those 102,000 Miles by a gentlemen in his 80s.

    An 1986 Mondial cabrio with 100 km.........and a 1984 308 with 160 km.

The interiors on both were totally ratted out and the exteriors were great. I didn't drive either one.....and the 308 was an ex-rental car.

I've put 16,500 on my 1978 carb, 308/288gto rebody by driving only on the weekends over the past year and a half. Most of my driving is to Hilton Head Island, SC or Ashville NC,or Atlanta GA, all about the same distance from where I live, 180m one way. No problems, I always heard the carbs are a problem, I have never had to adjust them. Its been a great car, with the 288 gto looks, but no major loss of value due to the additional miles I've put on.

A very good customer of mine has an 88 TR with 147,000km's. He drives it everyday, to work, to the mall, in the rain, snow, to the track, around the track, and back home again, only to take his wife out for dinner in it an hour later. He absoultly loves this car. And he drives this thing HARD!! I have rebuilt the differentail in it (because he blew it up) This car is always running a 5-6k rpm's when ever traffic permits. Oh and this is not his only car. He has a Ducatti and a cl55 AMG Benz, along with an ML430, and a Corvette with a 600hp supercharged engine. But he drives the TR everyday becuase it's his favorite of them all. You can't say these cars aren't tough because this thing has been through hell, and hasen't returned, but it has been the most reliable car he has owned in a while.

...there was a Berlinetta with 75k a while back on Ebay and it seemed that everyone was avoiding it for that reason...oh, and the fact that it needed the major done ;-)

    Cheers,
