    The Hilton family was furious about the X-rated home video of their 22-year-old daughter Paris having sex with entrepreneur (and Shannen Doherty's reportedly estranged husband) Rick Solomon that was anonymously circulated to media outlets last week. But word is that Paris doesn't really mind that much.

    "If I look on the bright side, Madonna was just another pop star until naked pictures broke," Paris told a source close to her. "That was the turning point in her career -- maybe this will be mine."

    A friend of the heiress says the same about the three-year-old video. "Paris knew what would happen if she allowed Rick to make a tape. She's not what one would call the embarrassed type. I honestly believe she doesn't care if it gets played on national TV."

    Will Paris' performance affect her upcoming Fox reality show, The Simple Life? Fox had no comment and said they still plan to air the show Dec. 2.

    I second that, Hubert. Although I have only seen the three minute version and supposedly, the real tape is 45 minutes.

    This tape has done wonders for her "career". For example, two weeks ago, I had heard the name 'Paris Hilton' once or twice before, but I would not have been able to pick her out of a line-up. I'm sure this was the case with a lot of people.


    One week ago, I saw a commercial for her Fox TV show. Immediately the name was recognizable. It also happens that it was the same night that I first saw her video. It has givern her crap-loads of brand recognition, and if she handles it the right way (which she seems to be doing with this article) it'll do nothing but make lots and lots of people know who she is.

    Also keep in mind that with this video already in circulation, she really has nothing to lose. That means that when good 'ol Carl's Jrs boy Hugh Hefner gives her a call, she won't have the moral dilemma of accepting the $mil or so offered to have her pose nude.

    Kudos for her. She may be rich, spoiled, and stupid, but she's a hottie who doesn't seem to be afraid to shake her money-maker and build a career from it.
