    Looks familiar. I could have sworn I found the exact same item and had the exact same dilemma a year or two ago. I probably junked it...

    It does sorta look familiar too.

    My guess it that it is a leather tool or a weatherstripping tool of some sort.

    I'm not sure what it's called or who exactly uses it (for some reason I'm thinking carpenters) but I'm pretty sure it's for measuring/copying angles.

    If used as a measuring device of sorts, why would the end be blackened?
