Mostly fruit. Some small cucumbers, beets, tumuric and ginger, green and red apples, carrots, lemons and limes, oranges, pomegranates.

They do a lot more Bison, but I don’t know the size of that herd. I think this maybe being the first year for yak, it will be more head next year.

I tried something the other day. It was ok but I will try it again and change a couple things. Frozen hash browns, a can of mushroom soup, some cheese, and some browned hamburger. Toss it all in a crock pot and let it cook overnight. It was good but I got the idea from someone bringing something similar to a pot-luck a couple weeks ago and mine wasn't as good as theirs. I don't think it needs the soup though, came out almost mushy. I'll try it again without the soup and maybe with browned sausage this time.

Jdubbya...Did you drain the hamburger after browning it?

Our friends gave us a Minnesota "hot dish" cookbook (no idea why!) and they have a recipe like the one in the link below. Maybe cook mushrooms first, and then drain those as well?

Yep, I browned it all and drained it off but I used really lean beef anyway. I tried V2 last night. No soup this time just frozen hash browns, shredded cheese, and browned burger. Mix it all up and put it in the crockpot overnight. I hate to admit it but I think I liked the first one better. This one I got too much salt in though, I used a spicy garlic blend that I bought but keep forgetting it has salt in it. This time the hash browns came out with more texture like I wanted though. The first time was liked mashed potato casserole.

The link you posted is like tater to casserole although I've never put beans in it. We used to have that as a kid.

Am making progress on the turmeric-infused smoothie front. Got us some turmeric root powder for Xmas after reading about the benefits of turmeric and curcumin. 1st attempt - Greek yogurt + 1 tbs of vanilla flavored protein powder + 1 tsp turmeric + water + blackberries. The berries were getting close to over-ripe, and as I suspected - purple berries + yellow turmeric = brown sludge. Taste was meh, obvious after-taste of turmeric. Visually unappealing! Wife groused.

2nd attempt - as before, but no blackberries + a couple of shakes of cheap cinnamon. Better. Less grousing.

3rd attempt = Greek yogurt + 1 tsp turmeric + handful of fresh raspberries + couple shakes of cheap cinnamon + water. Nice color. Good taste. Less noticeable turmeric after-taste. Grousing almost non-existent! :p Cinnamon does a good job of hiding the turmeric after-taste, and I'm sure once I switch over to the good Korintjie cinnamon, it'll be even better.

This made me want to make cream of beef before starting the infamous new year diet when I first read it. I have no idea why but I can't remember if I've eaten beef as my first meal all year. Maybe I'll try something like this for brunch tomorrow.

^ Whoa! Thank you. I'll have to look into some of those ingredients. I have heard of neither schizandra nor shilajit nor ashwaganda...T

Dads gravlax. I can't tell if he made it with tequila or brandy but it's damn good.
