    Popeye's. Yummy.

More leftovers. Leftover pizza. Leftover chili. Salad - fresh - not leftover!

This isn't really my dinner but it kinda is. That's ranch jalapeno ruffles, hickory smoked bacon, and more chips with jalapeno mustard on both slices of bread.

Q from Pecan Lodge after I had munched on it a bit. They catered the PCA dinner tonight.

The wife says their brisket is among the best in Texas. I am inclined to concur. Had a little of their smoked chicken (nowhere near as good as Mickelthwaites) and a little pulled pork, which was OK.

The Mac and cheese had bacon, which was very good, and if you got the right forkfull, a nice jalapeño kick. Slaw was meh.

As of tonight it is. My mom used to make me bacon sandwiches for lunch as a kid. So, I've always eaten them, but today I had the remnents of those ruffles left and we all knows chips make everything better. :D

Growing up in Brooklyn, I had a friend - family emigrated from Cuba - whose mom made these amazing bacon sammiches. They were awesome. Bacon, butter and some magic herbs and spices.

My neighbors as a very little kid were basically my third set of grandparents. I would always "run away" over there. And Mrs. Allene would make me a butter sandwich. White bread. Butter. Perfect.

Earl was one of those old guys that just oozed charisma and gift of gab. He would flirt with waitresses and make them blush and they'd give him a hug by the end of the meal. It's ashame they moved away when I was so young and I didn't get to have them in my life as closely as I would have liked.

You have two choices: flip turn flip or
turn flip turn. I'm a flip turn flip kind of guy.

As I recall, your strips were kind of long and your griddle pan was too. Not a lot of room to maneuver for the 90 degree turn.

    Oh Tom...

Everyone knows it’s turn, flip, turn :D

It Guy, just turn it 90 degrees at the 50% time mark on each side.

LOL. AzIt is THE MAN when it comes to cross hatching steak.
I humbly submit to his greater breadth and depth of expertise on the subject. :)

Better yet, Jason, get that little man of yours one of these!

If he's gonna add steak to his repertoire, then he needs to be introduced to the grill. Add grilling
to his burgeoning skills in baking and cooking, and you can pretty much retire from the kitchen.

I had the seafood linguine, it was excellent! Last nights dinner was boring, just a cheeseburger. Not sure what I'm doing tonight. My doctors office called, they want to go over the ultrasound results tomorrow morning. My doctor is booked, so they have the appointment with another doctor. Makes me more worried that it can't wait until my doctor is freed up. So now I'm scared! Might do something for dinner to get my mind off the appointment.

Thanks. They were sold as T bones. But, if you hit up a couple of Krogers - which is not a chore when you have fun cars to drive - you can usually find a couple with porterhouse sized filets.
