I'm about to hit my local bistro for beef dip and poutine.

    Pinto beans
Put a can of beans and some el Pato tomato chili sauce in a blender and let it rip until smooth. Tastes like liquid enchiladas.
You can think it out with brooth or water if you like

    :)

Chicken carcass, leftover from a Costco rotisserie chicken, to make the broth. Chucked in some lemongrass and fenugreek to make it a bit more aromatic.

Thought this was colorful. Trinity + grape tomatoes + zucchini diced. Usual spices plus two bay leaves, no salt since Costco chicken can be pretty salty to start with.

Need to simmer for a few hours and chuck in a handful of rice toward the end.

I braved 25 degree weather and a snow storm to get a beef taco pizza. Also have a bag of Buffalo chicken wings from Costco. Have my dad and brother over watching the game. I'm not a football fan, so been watching TV in my bedroom. Haven't opened the chips and dip yet! I'm too full!

Grabbed some pork shoulder at the store last night and planned on throwing it in the crockpot. I forgot I took my crock pot to work and left it there, intending to buy a new one. I never bought a new one. So I put the oven on the lowest temp and threw the meat in a pot with just some sea salt and a dash of liquid smoke. Left it in for probably 5 hours or so and then added in half a head of cabbage and turned the oven up for the last half hour or so. Et 'voila Kahlua pork. Served over a bit of jasmine rice with just a drizzle of Soy Vay island teriyaki sauce. Yummm

I didn't think it got that cold up there! You didn't miss much in terms of the game. Largely devoid of scoring and drama.

Tomahawk chop. Prime. Costco. On special at $15/lb. Reverse sear until rare inside. Then in the broiler on high for 3 min per side.

Oh yeah, with that goopy sugar icing. Mom would make those once in a blue moon when were kids. The Pillsbury ones that came in a can. Best breakfast ever!

The brand is Rhodes. They are the best store bought cinnamon rolls ever. Still very soft days after. Although I felt like I couldn't get as much icing on the rolls out of the bag as before.

I buy a dozen Cinnabon's about once per year. They are so good! But pricey for what they are.

Last night was Kirkland pesto linguine. Tonight is the burger special at Triple O's. Second best fast food burgers in town. Almost as good as Fatburger.

    Oh man. Jackpot!

There are two locations per Google Maps. Which one did you go to - the one closer to The Strip or the one on the 215 Loop?

Chili. Tomorrow night though. Started tonight.

Chuck - rough chopped. Celery. Onions. Spices. Beef broth made from that tomahawk chop I cooked earlier this week.

Three hours of braising later, the beef is tender enough to easily chop into smaller bits.

Have about 3 more hours of simmering tonight, then I'll finish it off mañana.

Now that I've used the chuck roast for chili 3 times, I'm a fan of ground beef over it.

Why so, Jason? If I could find "chili grind" beef more routinely, I might use that, as it's less work than chuck roast. I find regular grind ground beef to be to fine. Great for putting on a hot dog, perhaps, but not for eating or going on a mess of Fritos.

Chili is for tomorrow night. For tonight, seared some drumsticks in the Matfer. A little S&P,
    lots of tarragon.
    Image Unavailable, Please Login
Then finished them off in a 375 F oven for about 30 - 40 mins.

I am not a pan-sauce kind of guy, but all that tarragon got me thinking! A little white wine
(chablis) to deglaze, a dash of cream, a knob of butter, and mixy-mix.

    Was tasty on the drummies.

Thanks. We use Williams chili mix and in addition to the taste of the spice blend & the fact that it has no salt (so I can add it later to my own taste), as you say I think it imparts a great color to the chili.
