Simple meal tonight… scratch French Onion soup and leftover carne asada with Mexican rice. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Amazing looking meat guys.....ok that may not sound right.... Had dinner at some friends tonight. She makes amazing simmered pork chops. Served over rice or egg noodles with simple veggies. So tasty and so tender. She usually makes this for my birthday dinner. She's WAY overdue but it was just my buddy's birthday last week so it was still a Bday dinner. I splurged and had a bit of rice and noddles and even a small brownie for dessert. Yummmm. I could just about drink the gravy she ends up with.
Did chicken cordon bleu from Costco and made fries. It was o.k.. Feel like a bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys. Either going for lunch or dinner.

Your marinade looks like mojo criollo. Yummy! Haven't tried cooking with that stuff in a good long while. T
Five Guys bacon cheeseburger and fries last night. My dad wants Japanese tonight, so guess I'll be having free sushi!
Woo hoo! Steak on the Egg! Last night was steak night for us. Last t-bone from small butcher in Muenster, Texas. Need to go back. They do not short change you on the filet side, which is great, as that is the wife's favorite end of a t-bone. Once again, taking advantage of the recent wind storm, which knocked down a goodly # of limbs in the neighborhood. This is oak from the neighbors. Little bit of charcoal added. Image Unavailable, Please Login Wife had to work late, so it was dark by the time we commenced cooking. So, the pics stunk. Image Unavailable, Please Login Can kinda sorta see the t-bone above. It was about 2" thick. 2 min per side, rotate for some crosshatching. Then finish off to the side until internal temp ~ 135 - 140 F. Came out to a good compromise doneness for wife and I. Super tasty with a side salad. T
Nah… steak in the microwave to heat it a little. Not too much. Looks like a nice grill fired up there!
Thanks. We've a surplus of grilling wood thanks to the wind storm of last week! The steaks came out nearly perfect. Not too smoky from using wood. I think the secret was being patient and letting it burn down until the fire was almost out before tossing on the stakes. T
So many wow’s ^^ folks are eating’ well… tonight I made “Clean out the fridge and freezer” pasta that turned out way better than I expected. Chopped up half an onion, some Costco chicken sausage, half a bag of frozen green peas, a bunch of dried herbs, some fennel seeds, a bit of chicken stock and white wine and butter and parm of course…oh, and a touch of pasta water and a squeeze of lemon juice. and somehow it was surprisingly yummy. Pizza Hut meat lovers tonight. Did a sushi boat and my favorite scallop rolls. Was going to make spaghetti sauce, but it got late and I didn't feel like cooking.

Bought two chicken cordon bleu's from the grocery store. Their meat department prepares them and all you have to do is cook them. So that's dinner tonight with fries as a side.
