That looks great. Have you posted the recipe up-thread?

Not to be "that guy" but it was mid 70s here the last few days!

Made a few soups anyway since temps expected to plummet into the 30s this weekend. Best of the lot was turkey lentil.

Also, made a beef, rice and bean soup. The rice was cauliflower "rice". Beans were black soy beans. It was in the meh to OK range.

    ha, yeah, its...umm..."not 70 here"!

Super easy soup to make, I just wing it, but its something like this:

    Ingredients:
    1 jar of sauerkraut
2 large baking potatoes, diced into 3/4" cubes
1/2 large white onion, diced medium size
1lb smoked polish sausage, cut into half moons
16 ounces chicken stock (or more to your liking)
    4 All spice seeds
    4 Bay leaves
    Salt and Pepper to taste

    Directions:
Cube the potatoes and cook in the broth until 1/2 cooked
Sauté the onion and sausage with some olive oil and add to the potatoes and broth
    Add Sauerkraut **
Add the all spice, bay leaf and salt and pepper
    Cook for 1-2 hours.

** important - you can choose from 3 levels of sourness:
Highest = just dump the cabbage and brine into the pot. (I find this too sour)
Middle = strain off the brine, then dump cabbage in. (I prefer this one)
Lowest = strain off the brine and then rinse the cabbage in water. (this makes for boring, bland soup)

Hi Tomc. The Asian is actually an alcoholic drink. It’s called Soju from Korea with an alcoholic content of 19% or more. It’s distilled from starches such as potatoes or rice It comes in a variety of fruit flavours such as strawberry etc..I can’t drink a whole one so I usually mix it with mineral water or lemonade otherwise I would be silly as a goose:confused::).. Cheers. :):)

Thank you! Never heard of that! Seems to be wildly popular in Korea per Wiki.

Nothing worth mentioning this week. Last week I was in the states at our property. Nothing but chain restaurants there.

    Some holiday food pics…

I went a little crazy with Truffles and Foie gras for the holidays.... Tournedos Rossini filet, foie gras and truffles with a Madeira porcini butter sauce,
left over filet, foie gras with sweet potato and balsamic reduction with onion compote... and sliced toasted croissant ....
Publix roasted chicken breast - with glazed carrots, and creamy wild mushroom sauce. used the skin from the chicken and crisped it up ....
tortellini in broth with foie gras and truffles,
poached egg with caviar - Robuchon style ( salmon and crème Fraiche and parsley oil...
tomatoes with mozzarella... and casa cavedoni balsamic.
