Did get my Chick-Fil-A Weds. Thursday, just had pizza. Today my mom has an appointment at a hospital. It is near my favorite dive restaurant. I usually get the prime rib dinner special. But we'll be there around 3pm and it might not be ready yet. In that case, I'll get spaghetti and meatballs. It is a huge portion and It will likely be my dinner.

I will try and remember to snap a pic of the meal.

Thanks. It was cooked a tad too much, but otherwise quite flavorful.

My mom's appointment was moved to Monday, and we didn't get to the dive restaurant. My favorite restaurant for sushi is running a 20% off online orders promotion. So I got take out. The place included on the house California rolls in my order. 20% off and free rolls were good scores.

Strip steaks on the gasser a few nights back. Way too much meat. Made good steak and eggs the next day.

Chicken fajitas in the skillet. Despite the crappy iPhone pic, our cheese - sharp cheddar - was not actually glow in the dark yellow.

You know, eating that for dinner could be genius. Once you crash after the sugar rush, you're ready to go to sleep!

    Looks fantastic...T

You got that totally right. Complete sugar bomb. Would eliminate sugar from custard next time

    Thanks, Tom.

I've had it for probably close to two months, but no desire to prep it until last week. 4-burner, sear and pot station.

A week ago I’d never heard of coral trout…then YouTube decided I needed to watch some Aussie guy go camping on a little boat to a very small island. There were tons of different fish around him but he was only excited to spear a trout. Are they all that? Comparable to any other fish we might be more familiar with?

I’ll be having leftover Thai food. When I went in there, they asked how spicy I wanted it from 0-5……my response was “well if you kill me, you win”, and damned if they didn’t try their best……I thought at one point I saw the reaper through the tears. But I’m going back in tonight…..LOL (or RIP).

You said it Jason. This is the Ferrari nexus of great food ideas!

The wife and I did a working staycation - catch up on paperwork during the day, eat out at night - this weekend. At Legacy West, a high end retail/residential property in the north Dallas suburbs. Good choice of places to eat including a food hall w/ lots of different and varied vendors. Tried to do a small bite at as many as we could. But, this is Texas and small is not often an option.

Note: this was spread out over 3 nights!

Dahi papdi chaat. Crispy cracker like thingies. Topped with chickpeas. Tamarind and yogurt. Cool and spicy at the same time. Great flavor. My favorite of the whole week.

How good was it? My wife ate some and didn't complain about it being too spicy (it was mildly spicy more so than three alarm fire).

Rock shrimp tempura and pot stickers. Shrimp was better than the stickers.

Wagyu slider on left. Burnt ends on the right. Or vice versa! I can't tell them apart, but I can tell you the burnt ends slider was great!

From their website..."Smoked brisket, Gouda, pickled onions, house BBQ sauce, rosemary lime aioli."

Waffle topped with fresh blueberries, whipped cream and lemon curd. Could have done with less whipped cream but otherwise very good.

Brisket nachos. Good taste. A bit high on the nachos to toppings ratio.

Vegetable samosas. The dahi papdi chaat was better.

Very brave. My boss in college bragged about his spicy food eating prowess. Until the local Thai restaurant disabused him off his delusions!

So, how was the taste, above and beyond all the heat?
