We have a restaurant chain here called White Spot. They are famous for their secret sauce on burgers. They call it Triple O sauce. Few years back they started a fast-food chain named Triple O's. The burgers and fries are the same as the fancier restaurants. Had a bacon cheeseburger and fries at Triple O's last night. The company that owns Chevron gas stations here also owns the master franchise rights to Triple O's. So most Chevron's have a Triple O's.

Most copycat recipes I saw online had cayenne powder as an ingredient. Is it spicy?

    Air fryer blistered shishito peppers.

Very light coating of oil on to the peppers. I used canola. 15 min at 400 F. Shake every 3 mins. Finished with fleur de sel. Simple, tasty appetizer with mild zing.

No not spicey at all. I've never been able to find a close copy cat online.

On the topic of burgers. Gordon Ramsey has opened one of his burger joints in a casino here. It is getting mixed reviews. Still want to try it.

Went to his steak place in Vegas. Very, very good. The burger place. I don't think we went. As I recall, line was super huge. Let us know how you like it, when you get a chance to go.

    Orzo and shrimp.

    https://www.howsweeteats.com/2021/04/one-pot-shrimp-and-orzo/

This URL was the inspiration. But, the recipe called for cooking shrimp in the same skillet as the orzo, which did not seem like a good idea. Toasted the orzo in a little butter and oil. Very good recipe.

I had so many shishitos this summer off a couple plants that I pretty much got sick of them. But they are tasty and easy.

Made a turkey breast last week since I didn't take any leftovers from Thanksgiving and was still wanting turkey. Had enough for sammiches for a couple days and made soup with the bones. Tasty, turkey sammiches is probably my favorite part of the food of the holidays.

Made low carb lasagna yesterday, used low carb tortillas instead of noodles. Made a small pan but filled it very full. Came out tasty. The tortillas are a bit more chewy than noodles but still tasty.

I think I've figured out White Spots' secret burger sauce. At least partly. They use real French mayonnaise as a base. The mayo we buy in the stores is different from what the French serve. Seeing how Canada has a French have and entire French region. This makes sense.

We still have chile plants producing now. Making up for lost time. We did shishitos a few summers back. They did well, not great. Add I recall, it was just regular Texas hot that summer. The shishitos in the air fryer is a great appetizer. There is a Japanese supermarket close-ish to the Ferrari dealer. Try to pick up some there when I'm in the vicinity. Last batch i finished with a little cayenne powder and Camargue sea salt.

Looks tasty. You can use those low carb tortillas to make great enchiladas. Made turkey enchiladas with leftovers a few weeks back.

Been thinking of using the crumbly leftover bits from my favorite potato chips as a garnish. You've motivated me to make it happen in 2024!

A "child-sized" tomahawk chop. :D It's not a metric measure, but an appropriate sizing option nonetheless! Merry Xmas to you and your family. Happy holiday wishes to the entire F-chat family. And best wishes for a healthy and happy 2024.

I had pretty much bumper crops of peppers this year, Shishito, Big Thai, Bulgarian Carrot, Fresno's, and Habaneros all did well. My garden is long done for the winter but I am trying to overwinter a bunch of the pepper plants that did well. It seems like they wouldn't survive pruning to just a couple sticks but some are starting to sprout new leaves already, I've never tried this before, I hope it works.

This was during the summer in full growth...That's all peppers against the fence and tomatoes in the grow bags. By the end of summer they were all well above my head.

For some reason, Christmas Eve has always been “only soup” in my family. My wife was tasked with making the soup for this year’s gathering and went with Enchilada Soup. Very yummy and proved popular with the family.

yess! I was skeptical too re chips on an omelette but it’s so good. For my fellow foodies who hasn’t seen the show, def check out the two seasons of the bear which is the inspiration for the potato chip omelette.

Last night was traditional Americanized Chinese take out for Christmas Eve. My SIL is Chinese born and raised in China. She has been here about 15 years now and orders a few things off menu. She also made some chicken dish that was a little spicy. I did take pics but this laptop crashes when trying to use the upload feature. I'll post them when I'm on my desktop at some point.
