Hill Engineering makes 2 versions of spacers. The first version bolts directly to the hub of he car. The wheels are subsequently bolted onto the spacers using stock Bolts. The spacers are threaded to accomodate.

The second version of spacers are not bolted to the hub. Instead, longer bolts are used and the wheel and spacer are together bolted to the hub.

    Any opinion on better options?

For 25 mm or thicker spacers, I prefer the Type 2 spacers that have hardened inserts for the original wheel bolts. I have those on my 575M. For thinner spacers, longer bolts are the only option because there is insufficient depth for the wheel bolts.

    Hi Terry-

Do you use 25mm on the front and the rear?

    Thanks,

Derek- No, only on the rear. The fronts look fine without spacers.

I have the Hill Engineering "Type 1" 20mm spacers w/ extended 72mm wheel bolts on the rear of my 550. They are first-rate and and the aesthetic result is perfect.
