Hi All, I just bought a 91 TR a little over a month ago, and am thinking after this season I'm going to get the clear engine cover from Norwood Performance, and a new set of wheels to bring the car out of the eighties and make it a bit more contemporary. I'm not looking for bling-bling wheels, but I would like to see some pictures of what others have done with their TRs. Please also post what kind of wheels, where to purchase, how much, etc. Thanks!

Here are mine. They are a little over 3k from Dennis McCann. Only came stock on the 512TR Speciale (10 made - Pic of red car below) and the 348 Competizione - Only 50 made - None in US. Check out this thread...CCW Wheels are the wheels that Streetking uses on most of his cars. They can make wheels for anything. FChat sponsor NAPerformance sells them. These are polished, not crome. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51625
As always Jerry, your TR takes the prize. Sure would have liked to have found a decent blue one but they are just not out there. Oh well, lucky to have located a good red one I suppose. What do you polish that thing with? ss
I'd definitely go with 512TR wheels (and the required minor spacers) -- passes my two tests of "looks PF-ish" (although even PF screws this up occasionally ) and "non-F people won't even know that they're aftermarket". I like the look of Jerry's "Speciale" wheels too -- staying with the (hefty/substantial) 5-spoke theme is a must IMO on that coachwork, but I've sworn off wheels that have a gaggle of little bolt heads (too much hassle to clean -- JMO, and maybe it's just because I've used up my tolerance for such things living with some BBS wheels previously).
Thanks Steve - I definitely got lucky with the blue one, but would take a red one anyday. I'm definitely not the right guy to ask about polishing..... Not much into washing the car - It stays pretty clean in Cali.
I'd be happy to get together with CCW to do some wheels for the TR for an fchat member at a discounted price. Plus I'm sure it'd look amazing on a TR.
Those are belting closeup shots of your car Jerry... in fact I might just er "borrow" one for a screen saver!
Some of my pics. (they're not my cars obviously) Personally, I would go for the wheels that Jerry has on his Testarossa. Looks best. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Must be wierd knowing that someone 3-4k miles away in England is looking at your car all day on their screen saver
When it comes to choosing a new set of alloys for any TR regardless of which generation of model, the ones that complement this car the most is an alloy with the largest gap/space between the spokes that you can find.
Really, you think so? I kind of was thinking the opposite - For example the 2nd picture posted by F1 racer above - I really like the look of these rims (Kind of 348 challenge like) but the amount of space between the spokes looked odd on the TR to me. Also I wouldn't want to "show off" the relatively tiny rotors/calipers. Now if I had a big beefy Brembo set-up, bring on those rims!!
These are constantly on eBay, they are new with new tires and German TÜV. Price is for a set. 2800 make about $3000 Im not connected to this company. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7992174425
Cool looking rims on the TR especially. On the 355s it looks too 'Phat' !! Looks like the old OZ Racing MITO. Supplied tyre sizes are out though ; 355 should run on 225/40FR and 265/40 or 285/35RR. TR sizes should be 235/40FR and 275/40 or 295/35 RR.
Those are not OE 355 wheels. Just some aftermarket. I check the german ebay every day as I buy a lot of stuff there. You see several OE 360 sets, but no 355 sets :-(
