I love Rieslings but when I here waxy and petrol I sense the bottling machine was just lubricated.

Could be. I am curious about which aspect of Riesling is responsible for those flavors.

They could always sell it with a new tagline “Billy Dee Wilhelms for WD45. Works every time, also good for rusty hinges.”

I have a couple bottles somewhere...Costco carries this once in a while for cheap. I'll post a tasting note Mike when I find it. My everyday drinkers racks are in disarray. I do remember the 2018 being pretty good.

Mike. I found a bottle of 2020 and popped it for lunch Sunday with lobster rolls. Has a lot of butterscotch on the now. Light gold in the glass. Unctious. Sort of licorice with a bot of burnt orange on the finish. I guess one could drink it as an aperitif, but probably better with shellfish, fish or chicken with a cream sauce I'd guess. No oak of course. Not my style.

Chablis lovers. Devastating hail storm and other nasty weather prompting growers to estimate 50% of chardonnay in Chablis already lost for the 24 vintage.

Hi Jim. Been sampling different rose to settle on my best for the spring/summer. My old faves are Houchart, Bieler. Have in front of me a Willamette rose 2023 from Stoller, an entry level PN producer I like. I'll ost some tastings on this thread instead of opening a rose thread. Rose is being made all over the world from every known grape. I had a bottle of MUGA last week that was pretty good. I do not go for the Dom Otts of the world.

    Hey Keith,

That sounds great. Have you had any of the new releases from Tavel yet? I just bought a Chateau D’Aqueria, but have yet to open it.

Hello Jim. I'm more of a volume rose drinker...probably 5 days a week as aperitif, not to accompany dinner. The Peyrassol is pretty good as everyday drinker. I'll pick up Tavel in a couple of weeks. Cheers
