Hello all I’ve got flat top esco stands I’d like to use with my 458. Does anyone know what adapter to use with my low pro floor jack and how do you position the stands to take load when jack is lowered?

    Pictures would be wonderful

Manual is not helpful and I have the two thousand page one and owners

    Thanks everyone

Understood on that and where to lift, but is there a spot to lift from that allows you to than set the car on the stands?

I use ramps for low-profile vehicles using 2"x10"s. Very secure.

    Hi
I have used jack stands on my 488 and put them under the rear hubs. If you have a look at a thread I started a couple of weeks back about plugging the Exhaust valves on a 488 you will see some pictures of my car on jack stands at the rear.

I haven't put the front on jack stands but I would do the same put them under the front hub.

    So basically
Jack the car up using the points underneath where the factory lift the cars from 1 corner at a time
Jack stands under the hub 1 at a time
I also left a couple of heavy duty toolboxes under each chassis rail as a safety measure not touching the chassis but as a back up. In the old days we used to slide the car wheel under as a back up, but not with these expensive rims!!

    Regards

    Michael

on the R8 you can jack up in the middle like at frame rail under door handle to give you an idea of car and the entire side would lift up due to rigidity of the frame.

Does the 458 not do this?

The 458 have a full pan and the cut out areas are where you would pickup with a lift. Might want to look into race ramps

I'll second the race ramps. As long as you don't need the wheels off, race ramps are great. Just jack the car up and place them under all 4 wheels. Normally, if you are doing something which requires removing the wheels/tires, then you can leave the floor jacks in place usually.

    Thread resurrection!

I'm looking to lift my 458 on my scissor lift. Looking at those front lift points, they seem to be recessed with respect to the undertray panel. If I place a hockey puck over the threaded part, having first removed that black bung, will I not be at risk of damaging the undertray? I did wonder if there are any screw-in bushes anywhere but couldn't find any. At the rear I was going to use the large indented section which is further rearward than the rear jacking point - I just need to find something suitable to use as a puck looks to be too small
