Wouldn’t be an issue for me, that sort of stuff doesn’t worry me. I’m not into concours or poofter polishing.
About darker being nicer, yes, and I agree that the original azzuro is washed out, but the colour of my car most certainly isn't washed out. Anyway, like all cars, mine looks black.
Washed out! I love my car lol Geez I need to take it for a drive though. It's been too long. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Totally agree with Pat. The SE and S4s are IMO by far the most desirable Esprit, from a looks and performance package perspective. The V8 never did anything for me and was a big mistake. Of course, the S1 and S2 are super cool but probably rubbish to drive.
The last 328 that Dixons sold new in period was $204k OTR. I remember Steve Ellett telling me when I bought my 1988 Blue Chiarro from him in 1993 for $110k. It was to this day the only Ferrari my wife approved of, perhaps the fact that it was the only one she could comfortably drive had something to do with it. I thought it was as boring as bat **** to drive and after thrashing the tits off it at Targa Tasmania I sold it. Steve Ellett rang me up to see if he could buy it because he had somebody who particularly wanted a blue one. He offered me $10k more than I had paid so off it went to a new home. The new owner turned out to be Phillip Murphy (Dan Murphy's son) and he crashed it at Sandown some time later. It was painted Red when it was repaired. I think the QV is probably the best "all rounder" of all the 308 models. It loses a bit of personality with the fuel injection; but gains usability compared to the carby 308's. Obviously it still retains most of the purity of the original design that is largely lost in the 328. The Vetroresina cars are the most involving to drive, sound the best and are the best looking of them all; but they are probably the least usable. The 308 GTBi and GTSi combine the worst characteristics of all models, have the least power and torque and have few redeeming features. I wouldn't have one if it were free I can't remember the Canberra rally so I'll take your word for it.
Actually I think 93 was Winton, and every time I mention that some arsehole comes on hear claiming all sorts of ****. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
That's why the glass car is the pick of the bunch.... No one cares about the usability these days. Hands up who uses them as a daily! I 100% agree with your assessment, which means you're right lol, apart from a Carby car, the QV is easily the best of the rest.
I'm thinking of going back to one, Satan is a target for revenue .............. plus I've slowed down a lot Image Unavailable, Please Login
