Thank you Mr Monocle What has the NTSB people said so far ? They are the only ones anyone should be listening to, the rest of the white noise is just people on the internet thinking they are smarter than everyone else with their "assumptions" I'd listen to people like Gaz and Steve but not amateur pilots pushing their political views Also , I'd like to hear what Dan in Melbourne thinks of the ATC position in all of this
We all have X/Twitter and we can curate ourselvrs thank you very much. Wait for the NTSB report intead of selectively quoting unreliable sources
I wonder what comment El (American) Presidente will say about this one,a day and a half after: https://www.9news.com.au/world/philadelphia-plane-crash-causes-fiery-scene-with-multiple-homes-ablaze/410b06f8-764f-4d39-8456-67bd918ba98f
I've just had to join Facebook because so many clubs and events are posted there - gives me the shjts.
Speak for yourself as well. Like “I think social media is for idiots” - But you know what I mean and I know what you mean so let’s not get too literal and concentrate on the content.
If your claim about being legally compelled to have 50% directors is correct why are there only around 35% female directors on listed boards https://www.governanceinstitute.com.au/app/uploads/2024/04/2024-Board-Diversity-Index.pdf
1. I'm listed on the LSE 2. The ASX figure is 40% according AICD 3. Companies below a market cap threshold are not yet compelled - the ASX has a lot of micro-cap mining companies Finally there is no evidence anywhere that boards with more female directors perform better - it is myth derived from McKinsey.
If you are listed on LSE it is a whole lot more diverse , take a peek at this Baker Mckenszie article https://resourcehub.bakermckenzie.com/en/resources/cross-border-listings-guide/europe-middle-east--africa/london-stock-exchange-main-market/topics/corporate-governance#:~:text=The%20diversity%20targets%20require%3A%20(1,is%20from%20a%20minority%20ethnic ASX is just over 40% to 44% depending whether you look at the 200 or the top 20 respectively . The overall target is 30% All these below the 50% mark first mentioned in your post You are correct there is conflicting evidence , Mc Kinsey says yes , Harvard says no for instance. In my experience in both C suite and on boards I have found that you get a big bang for your buck with diversity in the management team , particularly if you are a consumer facing industry. Boards depending on the cultural setting may be helped or hindered with diversity targets. Diversity is just part of the mix not the be all and end all , skills come first and diversity can be the sweetener . It is far from settled and a very interesting discussion . It is always a hot topic amongst AICD grads and members.
A couple of great pieces in the Oz re the ABC in the last couple of days. Might be an eye opener for a few on here.
