Why do some cars have the Ferrari shield on the fender and some do not? Was it an option? Does it mean something?

This has been heavily debated..back and forth. The badges were previously only placed on F-cars that actually raced, which means only a fraction of F-cars had them.

Now, seems some have figured out that the badges prominently yell out "Ferrari" to anyone that might accidentally mistake your car for a Mitsubishi eclipse or worse. If that's important to you, by all means get a pair.

However, if you feel you must indulge, get the "stick on" or magnetized versions. When you go to sell your car, there's a decent chance the prospective buyer will think they look overdone, obtrusive, or downright cheesy.

Someone gave me one of the magnetized versions and I have to admit it really looks great...mounted on my glossy black 2002 Whirlpool side-by-side.
