Of course I do. No magic tho'. And will not go down as one of the greats. 'Same as all the respect I have for Graham.....'just not that one level higher.....a natural like a Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton, Verstappen (and whoever else I might have forgotten)......
Amazing but that doesn't mean that Hamilton or any other top driver could mount a championship challenge in a Williams.
Ok, I'm sure your source is more accurate. I was just going by what Jochen Mass said while on a Pod Cast with Motorsport. I'm sure that Mass's assertion that Schumacher needs to work out and be more fit is also miss placed... and it was Webber who paid for him to get buffed up. Group C cars were faster than F-1 at the time, but heavier... so required more strength to drive hard.
Again, I was going by what Mass stated during Motorsport Pod cast... its out there for all to hear. ( in excellent English I may add! )
Why not ? A driver is the central command unit in any car. Senna squeezed the pips out of a Toleman. Schumacher did the same at Ferrari. Max has been squeezing the RB dry. Perhaps Hamilton doesn't fancy an authentic challenge ?
I'd love to see more teams be competitive, just as I am pleased with Red Bull this year; McLaren's comeback journey. That doesn't, however, include wishing ill will on a team that is successful already ("I actually hope it's an uncompetitive turd."). I've loved the sport for 6 decades and only wish the best for all participants. When there are those that need to catch up, I wish them well. It would only improve the spectacle that F1 is. I have nothing to "get over", thank you very much. I'm a firm believer in positivity, not negativity. For the sake of the sport, how about you and others that think your way?
Yes but Ham fans claim he is one of the all time true greats inside any car. But remove Team Mercedes from the equation and it looks different. A milder but nonetheless welcome challenge would be Ham to Ferrari.
Ham almost won 2 championships before Mercedes. Won championships before he entered F1. Won every year since he entered the sport, in every car he drove.
As usual you're nit picking. Want to have it put in a more positive, friendly way? I hope teams named not mercedes hava a gloriously successful year.
Yes he is a great driver but you cannot accept that many here do not consider him the greatest driver of all time because the Mercedes parameter is completely abnormal in the history of this sport. To put this into perspective he won ONE championship in his first SEVEN years.
I don't even consider him or any other driver the greatest of all time. It impossible to say. But he is one of the greatest. If Schumacher had only drove for a top team and won 10 championships over his career. Would he be considered one of the greats?
Nit picking? Your comprehension simply astounds me. I post about one's basic philosophy of sport "fandom" and you consider it "nit picking"? Aye-yi-yi.
Not exactly, Verstappen won 2021 Championship with a slightly inferior car. The 2008 McLaren was on par with the Ferrari.
And in '97 the Williams was around 1 second faster than anything else. MSC still managed to drag that pony into the final race showdown. Yes we all know what happened next...
