I am considering this 458 at a very very Good price. I noticed on the CarFax it says this. Will this hurt value much? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well per your post you are getting a deal on it. So i assume its because of this. Therefore it must affect the cost Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The car has a story, it may not be a big deal, but just the fact that it has a story, that will need to be investigated, explained and inspected will hurt the value of it.
You will get a much lower trade in or have a difficult time selling it close to market prices when you decide it's time to get rid of it
+1. Any upfront savings on buying a used car with "stories" and an unclean Carfax in addition to 30K miles will be offset when it comes to selling the car. Buyers are selective at this pricepoint and I for one would never buy a used F-car with this Carfax. There's too many other examples of one owner, clean Carfax, low mileage for slightly more up front.
Yes. Unless it’s salvage car price or below and you have no issue sitting on it when it comes time to sell....Id pass, too many better options, why settle. IMO.
It's been said by wiser men than me; The cheapest Ferrari you can find usually ends up being the most expensive car you will ever own. To add... And cannot re-sell. If its' going to be a track car that you intend to "use up" then, maybe.
The driver hit the animal and called the police. They wrote the report with the vehicle's VIN and it shows up on the Carfax. Simple as that.
Utterly ridiculous that this question even has to be asked. The car probably hit bugs too...maybe some air or *gasp* rain.
If you hit a deer and it lands dead in the middle of the road, or in severe pain, the police will take it out of its misery. If the cop shows up, they can write a report detailing what happened, which dings the CarFax as the VIN will be included.
I have seen hundreds of cars totaled from hitting deer and people die from it. Lets hope this car didn't hit a deer!
If they are knocking down the price selling it to you then why would it be knocked down again on the subsequent sale? This is just stupidity in action if you ask me. If you like the car and it's a good deal for you then buy it. The carfax report is irrelevant and isn't the reason the car is priced at a deal, more likely the 30k miles is the reason.
I don’t know what state it happened in, but in New York, it is the law to report it to police if you hit a dog, or a domesticated cat.
Never seen a dog or a cat in NY Lots of squirrels though Do you have to ring the police if you hit a Squirrel?
