So I'm sitting here using Firefox - been using it all day - and every so often, the screen inside the active Firefox browser window starts shaking. It's almost like it's rapidly bouncing up and down - and obviously for no apparent reason. I thought I had figured out why, but as it turns out, I have no idea why it's happening. Anyone else having this problem...?

mine was doing that too. I deleted the bookmark toolbar and it stopped.

I started a thread about 2 weeks ago, I think I was more specific on what I did in that thread. I can't totally remember now.

This thread here...? Look who the first person to reply was... :) Unfortunately, there are no instructions in that thread on how to delete the empty bookmark toolbar in Firefox. Any ideas...?

What laptop did you get...? Mine also came with McAfee pre-installed; it sounds like we have similar machines.

right click on the top of firefox somewhere and uncheck bookmark toolbar

    I got a toshiba satellite.

I don't know if I mentioned my bittorrent problems in that thread. several people have offered help but I still can't get it working. I think it may be mcaffee causing the problems.

Of course you found a black one. I didn't even know they made them in black. Mine is a dark silverish color.

I'll have to take pictures and post them... It's a beautiful machine... Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5200 @ 1.60 GHz, 2,083 MBs of RAM, 160 gig hard drive, wi-fi, DVD burner/re-recorder, extended keyboard with the number pad on the side, fingerprint scanner, 17" screen - it's awesome...!

That one sounds really neat. I almost wish I did something top secret so I would have a need for a fingerprint scanner.
Mines a lower end one, but it does what I need. I still use my old computers more than it.

So far it has been a good computer. My only real gripes are the toshiba thing that keeps coming on to "update machine version file" then locks up and I have to restart, and not being able to use bittorrent.

Fingerprint scanners can be defeated using gummi bears :)
