Mario Andretti tells a story about Neuman's talent /capabilities on a recent Jay Leno's Garage... Mario was asked to attend a test session by a manufacturer, to which he asked Paul if he would like to tag along to see what was being developed for the next racing season... Paul was asked if he would like to try a few laps in the new car, which he gladly accepted... the result was that Paul posted better lap times than all the test drivers had posted to that point... not to be shown up, the test drivers went out to run a few better laps... and promptly crashed and trashed the cars :=) Paul actually was a very good driver

This is a very well done documentary. It concentrates perhaps a bit too much on the Sharp Nissans, but that's where PLN had his most success. And where there's plenty of archival footage courtesy of Nissan, of course. There is some insightful stuff about the Le Mans Porsche 935, but disappointingly little about PLN's Daytona 24 drive in the Ferrari 365GTB4. Still, well worth watching.

Did Clint Eastwood co-drive that car? Seems his name is on it.

No, Perry, but Bobby Carradine drove another car in our 3-Daytona team. That is, until he wiped out the front suspension on a cool-down practice lap.

Ken Starbird's car, David Carradinhe's car and Ray Ramsey/Clint Eastwood's car. Eastwood was the money on Ray's car.

I remember it as Ray. The Monterey, CA Ferrari and assorted other dealer.

There was an FOC track event where the Daytonas attended as a shake down run. One of the cars had a Smothers brother as a driver.

Definitely Rex. I got to know him a little bit when he was racing Can-Am at Mosport. I was racing Formula Atlantic at the time. Funny story about him picking up my wife at the airport but discretion is required. The golden era of motor racing.

I knew Rex when he was in Ft. Lauderdale. Funny story about his racing finances but discretion is required there, too......:)

Must have been Dick, who developed into a pretty competent driver, although certainly not on the PLN level. I don't think Tommy was much interested in racing.

I think Rex and Ray are not the same person. I knew Ray as a part owner of short-lived Ferrari of San Francisco. Also spent time in Monterey.

If that's the case then, no, they are not the same person.
