Looking for pair of front bilstein for my f355
hi there.. to my understanding you cannot buy a new set of OEM Bilstein shocks... they are NLA.. you can most likely find a used pair of fronts at Ferrparts, ExoticAutoRecycling or Eurospares etc.. and lastly not sure put possible.. DeltaVee may have rebuilt sets in stock...
Thanks Dave, is DeltaVee on that board. Took the car to cars and coffee for the first time. I was surprised how much interest the car got, a lot of fun Thanks, Larry
I don't have the radio but I do have a mint 6 disk CD changer made by Sony and its interconnecting cable to the radio (also mint). I also have the escutcheon for the radio made by Sony that fits the Sony radio perfectly into the leather dash shape (but it is "sticky" and needs to be refinished). Send me an e-mail if interested.
I called DeltaVee they are not taking any rebuilds for now, there overloaded with work. Does that bilstein share with any other car from the 90s?
this guy seems to have a set of front shocks if still available.. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/355-front-suspension-brakes.565619/
Thanks, I didn't know that. I sent some Bilstein PSS struts in for warranty rebuild about three years back and saw Ferrari listed as an offering for rebuild...haven't been there recently. That sucks they don't support them.
Agree. I used them to rebuild a set of shocks for a 456 - couldn't be happier. Cheaper and faster turnaround than Bilstein, too!
great to see a good alternative.. just looked through their site.. and they are an authorized Bilstein dealer/rebuilder.. but they don't offer any pricing etc.. back initially I think Bilstein and Deltavee charged roughly the same price per corner.. $150-200 range.. and then Deltavee shot it up to $400 per corner with lifetime warranty.
I remember years ago when I researched Deltavee. They had a lot of verbiage of how the shock needed to be stripped down and cleaned or you would be charged extra, at their per hour rate. Wow, business must have been great.
I have spoken with Bilstein recently and I can confirm that they do not officially rebuild the shocks. They no longer have the piston rods available them. However they were happy for me to take pictures and even send them in to see if they could be worked on. I have not done that yet so I'll have to update you guys if I go that route.
