WTF is wrong with Prince Harry?

You guys DO realize he was attending a "worst dressed party" right? The main focus of the party was to see who could dress the worst. He won. It's ridiculous how the news media, and everyone else as a matter of fact, is blowing this entire issue WAY out of proportion. It was basically a costume party, so it's not like he was trying to say "f*** the jews" by wearing that outfit. Why doesn't the paparazzi get pictures of all the kids on Halloween night and ask WTF is wrong with them? Sending Harry to Auschwitz is like making all the kids who wear devil's masks on Halloween read The Bible to learn how bad the devil is.

 

People are just thin skinned and hypersensitive. They just look for some trivial item to cry about. If you don't like what he's wearing, fine. Go home and put your face in a pillow and cry away.

 

A well put and certainly valid point, but someone in the public eye really should have known better.

 

Hopefully then he will realize why so many europeans, probably more so the older ones, were so upset. That place is rather depressing, although important, to visit.

That is hardly a valid analogy. Auschwitz-birkenau should certainly open his eyes. it opened mine. Reading about it in a textbook or hearing about it is one thing, seeing where it happened, especially the size of the place, is unbelievable.

 

Why?

 

Have you ever been to Auschwitz-Birkenau?
The holocaust happened only 60 years ago. You still see effects of it today. One example is the jewish population of poland. Before WWII there were over 3 million jews in poland. Now its something like 10,000. What things in history is the devil responsible for? Sure, you coud argue that he (she?) is responsible for everything bad that happens, assuming he exists, but that is ridiculous to say. Wearing a devil costume does not offend people the same way it does when you wear somethnig bearing the symbol of an organization which was responsible for the deaths of what i would estimate to be over 30 million (12 or 14 million russians were alone), and the destruction of much of western europe and parts of eastern europe.
Reading the bible pales in comparison to seeing and smelling 700kg (that was just what was there at the time of liberation) of 60yr old human hair in a display case that was shaved from prisoners to make wigs. A display case full of 60 year old childrens toys and baby bottles is much closer to reality for all of us than is a book that was written 2000 years ago.

I don't doubt that its horrible. But are you suggesting that the metaphor is invalid because hell is not as horrible? Just because we can't post pictures from hell doesnt mean its an island resort. There are definitely people out there who read the bible and protest against children dressing up as devils. (and Harry Potter, pokemon etc.)

 

You know that. I know that. But if you're a British royal, you kinda have to watch your ass a little more closely than this. Whether one agrees or not, he IS held to a higher level of scrutiny than the garden variety teenager.

If someone wanted to dress up as "Uncle Joe" at a costume party I would not be offended. However.....if someone wants to aggressively promote world socialism (communism is now spelt differently post 1989) you've got a serious no holds barred fight to the death on your hands....so for once I agree with Randall here.

To those of you who are complaining about Harry......get over it.......to those of you whine about GWB intervening and the end result is some hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's that won't die in Saddam's jails....get over it.....and please don't forget the hundreds of thousands of Rwandans "your" UN let die needlessly....get over it....this pales in mere comparison to the numbers of the relatives I will never meet or know about. Napolis said it best when referring to 9/11...."some events in your life you just put in box and close....but you know the box is there"........or something to that effect.

Harry's problem is that he forgot that he has those arbiters of first class print journalism....the english paperazzi....following him around 24/7......and that he comes from the patently dysfunctional English Royal family which is a great target for others to advance their agendas on the back of in the appropriate circumstances......had he been aware of those two issues in his life he might have chosen something different. Insensitive ??.....given his public exposure and position....yes....a hanging offence....not even close.

 

Harry's problem is he was stupid enough to think that a PRIVATE PARTY was going to be just that, and didn't allow for the fact that some low life scumbag is going to take pictures and sell them on. Its comforting too know that the same scumbag then got taken for a ride by an even bigger scumbag (a reporter from the greatest pile of crap ever to infest the world ie the gutter press) who gave him £10K for the photos now being syndicated around the world for obscene amounts of money. Just goes to show how naive people can be.
In relation to the uniform, if it is so offensive then how come you can walk into any fancy dress shop, anywhere in the world and almost certainly find a Nazi / german army uniform. Yes, he was gullible, but no he should not be hung out too dry.I have worn one myself to a fancy dress party, and can categorically state I am not a Neo-nazi. I am also not religous in the slightest, and therefore not pious.
For the record I have no love of the Royal family and their entourage of parasitic bloodsuckers (known in the UK as Courtiers etc) but this is just a classic example of the sh*thouse press drumming up hysteria again to sell papers. Sadly yet again they have succeeded in doing so.
No one in their right mind is going to deny the true horrors of the events of WW2, and nor should they, but consider this for a question. Would this story have even reached the news if he had put on a Robert Mugabe rubber face mask? Would it F*ck!
Its about time every body got off there high asses and get on with life. We need to remember the past but not relive it!
