Nice job, however reading this thread just reafirms that I made the right decesion in sending my parts to Robbie. I am a total DIYer and usually have multiple projects going on between car restorations, house projects etc. I can honestly say it was just not worth the time investment as well as the material costs to do it myself. For the price Robbie charges and the turn around time he provides, it was money well spent to send it to him.

Very nice looking!!! I may give that a try on the next set I do. I thought about it awhile back, but was leary and thought the SealACT would mess up the finish, since I don't clearcoat the parts. I have tryed to use a toothpick and fill in the lettering, but that doesn't look great, so I just leave them blank.

can anyone tell me what's involved in removing the interior door handles (355), and do the HEVAC knobs just pull off, don't want to force them if not!

    thanks

The HVAC knobs do not just pull off. They push into the panel and then a snap ring is on them. The box needs to come apart to remove them.

There is a step by step thread I made on the door handle removal for 355's on here somewhere.

malex- Nice Job! I was planning to cover in real carbon fiber in the future but your tutorial gives a good view of how paint can be done nicely.

My question: Where did you source the lock for the shifter gate? :D
    (PM if needed)

    Again, thanks for this thread!

Thanks for the kudos. It's really not bad to DIY if you have a little patience. My level of patience is typically low, so if I can do it, anyone can.

The shift gate lock is made by Hill Engineering. I bought it from Ricambi. Give Daniel a call. He'll hook you up.

I can't disagree with you Jay. If I had house projects or another car restoration going on, my parts would've gone straight to Robbie. I refinished most of the parts a "little here, a little there" until they were done. I probably should've added up my hours but sometimes I'd only spend 10-15 minutes doing something (like shooting a coat of paint).

Relative to the cost of the Ferrari and Ferrari parts, the cost of materials to refinish the interior parts is basically a rounding error. So, IMO, this wasn't a factor. Time, however, is a significant factor.

    Thanks.

I rubbed very, very lightly with the sealACT; letting the chemical do all the work. Your finish held up perfectly :D

BTW... I removed the defroster vent grills on my dash to respray them, for they had a little discoloring form the sun. Removing these vents, I basically destroyed a few of "sticky" screw covers; so I ordered new ones.

Anyone care to guess their condition LOL!!! You guessed it.... STICKY and scratched with dirt and dust stuck to them.... out of the box! I think I expected this :D
