Not to keen on classic American muscle-- what makes that car worth $800k+? Why is it special?

according to my buddy they only made 69 of those cars, that one is number 40 and a few are confimed distroyed. it has an all aluminum 427 a rare motor. they were built to satisfy homoglation for nascar i think.

Find a Corvette ZL-1 and then you are easily into 7 figures.

Kidding aside, cool to see something like this.

That Q&A is pretty funny! I'd take it right now for 50K if no one wants to pay over $30 :D

I know its a rare car, but there are plenty of other cars that I would look at before spending the cash on that...

I agree. I realize it is probably worth that much to a collector, but it isn't different enough from any other hopped-up '69 Camaro to justify the additional $1,000,000 to me.

For drag racing, not NASCAR. The cars were basically drag cars, ran 11's on a tire in 1969. The ZL1 engine option cost more then the car in '69.

While 69 were said to be made, only 13 were sold at a cost of $7,000 in 1969. The rest were sent back and reconfigured so they could sell as normal Camaros.

This is not about how fast, nor how classic it is, this is history. A car with aluminum heads AND block in 1969, it was just frightening to drive because it was that fast.

They were meant to have the "sleeper" look. The no frills go fast package. Ultimate classic, brutally fast.

That is if you could find someone willing to sell one of the two that exist.

Look at the bid history. Worldofwheels seeme to be looking for that reserve or is just trying to get it to reserve in hurry.

Hard to believe that that many people are willing to part with what is approaching seven figures for the car. I understand the history, BUT......DAMN that is a lot of money. I would have to have an Enzo, McLaren, 250 California Spyder, and about twenty other cars (I'll spare you the list) before I would spend that much on a ZL-1 Camaro.

I just checked that... look at the Bid Cancellations at the bottom of the bidders list. Someone was probably testing the reserve limit.

Ahhh...didn't look at that. But then again I never really use e-bay.

So, I'm guessing that the reserve is probably sitting at about $1,000,000. OUCH.
    I'll take an F-50, 430, 997 911 Turbo, and an C6 Z06 modded for the track for that price.LOL

The old Mopars have been at this price for a few years now. Just think if you had bought 5 or 6 Cudas or Challengers back in the day with the 426 Hemi. You could sell them now and retire with MILLIONS in the bank. Pretty awesome how the classic car market works.

Well chit, anyone got a time machine handy so that I can go back to 1969 with about 35K.

How about taking that 35k and putting into Phillip Morris stock, and then come back to present day and buying a couple of those Cudas and a nice 575M.

Wow, check out all the other parts this guy has sold and is selling. He is probably making a killing already. Wonder why he is posting the car for "the public" to see on eBay.

$5,000,000+ and you still own one? I would think I would be forced to sell at that price. But if you love them that much then I guess you can rationalize keeping it.
