Hi Peter,

sounds great and you & your friend are very welcome!!!
We are looking forward to drive in the first or second week of October. I will let you know more a.s.a.p. He have been at the Lago di Garda in March for 1 week.....awesome location - just amazing and you will love it! Everything is so close to (for example) Bardolino. Only 40 minutes to Maranello.
For further details, just feel free to call me - see my profile for phone numbers.

Hi All !
I read, that you think about a trip to Italy.

We (myself with a Mondial and a friend with a 308) want to drive to the Lago di Garda in the beginning of October.
Maybe we can arrange a meeting in Italy.
The exactly date is just open.
With greetings from Berlin

Mark,

oh man, your schedule looks horrible to me: "December = See my wife again and go somewhere for Christmas!"

MARK !!!! Whats up with you? Are you a total work-o-holic? You are close to your first heart attack - SLOW DOWN my dear friend and enjoy your family!
Maybe in a couple of years you can say:
- I have had a lovely wife - but never saw here...
- I have owned a fantastic Ferrari - but never drove here....
- I have had a beautiful house - but never have lived there....

Your friend Wolfgang

Wolfgang, my rough schedule looks something like this:

* October = Poland & Germany doing some personal research
* October - November = Finding a house on the island
* November - December = South Africa to do as much flying as possible (& lots more)
* December = See my wife again and go somewhere for Christmas!

Hey guys, isn't this just terrible : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2426477422

Hi Guys,

I will work on my schedule in the coming weeks. My assignment ends on September 30 and I will be taking off October-December...perhaps not the best time for driving! I will let you know how my plans develop.

Hi Martin,

He-he!! Stunning idea - I wish I had thought of that earlier, but I left it F-A-A-A-R away in Germany!! Goodbye...

Hi Gentlemen. I apologise for the recent silence. It's been a busy and stressful time at work. I received and accepted a job offer, and resigned from my current employer this week. I will take a three month vacation starting at the end of September and will be following Wolfgang's advice: "Mark - you need to slow down"!

Thanks Wolfgang - I blame you!

Mark,
sell the exhaust on eBay. Starting bid $1. See what response you get.
Post who made it with their address just for the heck of it!

Hi Mark,

well, I agree that the "R.F.Museum of Torture Instruments" is a worthy & dignified funeral for this kind of american-hand-made craftsman...!

Hi Wolfgang,

I have donated the sexy American exhaust to the "Fehr Museum of Torture Instruments" My car is no longer strangled by this monstrosity and now breathes freely without the catalysor. I noticed that my fuel consumption was up on Saturday, but I guess that could be because I was having a LOT of fun!

Hi Mark,

beautiful pics looks like a brand new car with a brand new engine. Amazing clean! Your old exhaust system is the most ugly system we have ever seen! Don`t throw it away Mark. This is the one for the technical museum Upload

Hope to CU soon again

POSTING NUMBER 328

Back home after a long day on the road. I stopped at my local dealer to pay homage before wasing and polishing:

DSCF10442s.JPG

The business end:

DSCF10457s.JPG

...looking immaculate after 45 hours of work (including the silencer replacement):

* Cam belt & rollers
* Filters, hoses & fluids
* Drive shafts re-greased
* Replaced exhaust system & connecting tubes
* Removed Cat-electronics
* Repaired window electricals & outside rear-view mirror switch
* Repaired mis-firing: two sparkplug caps and a distributor rotor
* Repaired bumper & fender
* Repaired handbrake
* Replaced engine hood gas struts & radiator cap
* Repaired rubber seal in trunk
* Recharged the air-conditioner

....and an array of smaller things.

This is the box of tricks that was surgically removed - I forgot the link in my posting below: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/236243.html

This is the silencer (manufactured by "Lees Custom Exhaust Shop" in Florida, USA) that came off of my car:

DSCF10424s.JPG

Read about it here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/212428.html?1047223982#POST157634

This is what went on: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/223734.html

And (after 10 hours of labour) this is what it looks like now:

DSCF10421s.JPG

This chunk of after-marker Cat-converter-crap has also been surgically removed, and my car now breathes freely!

My patience has paid off!

Hi Markus,

Yes - that's a Smart supercar parked next to the puny Diablo!

Wolfgang, it would have been ideal to have stayed over but not only did I have work commitments (I had to get something out on Saturday night) but the weather was just perfect and the traffic was reasonable...so I elected to "hit the road". Uwe also had (domestic) work to do and you had important clients helping you to get your Testarossa! ... so we were all a little pushed for time. We really need to find a weekend when we are all just able to relax and drink a lot!! Last weekend was just too hectic!

I look forward to welcoming you guys at my place in the near future!

Here's the sight that presented itself to me when the garage door opened on Saturday at 09h00...

Hi Mark,

thank you for the PM. I'm glad that you have arrived home savely. I can imagine how you feel now when all trouble is away from the car ;-)
I was in the same situation ...

It was a pleasure for me to help you make you happy for the rest of the day. Thank you very much for the nice present - it smells good ;-)

I hope we will meet next time in Prague (hope with Wolfgang).

@Wolfgang

We are a living community of Ferrarista - I will help whenever I can. Therefore we are friends ;-)

I hope to see you at "Elternabend" in Egelsbach ...

Mark,

great to hear that you are safely back home. It was a loooong day & trip for you. But it worth it! Now you have a perfect toy for the next few years. I`m a bit sorry, that we haven`t met us for driving, BBQ party and stay in my house till sunday. Anyway, so we are looking forward to drive to you in the next 2 months.

Thanks UWE for jumping in your car to pick up Mark; it was impossible for me `cause I have had an appointment/meeting with some customers in my store. You are a great gent & friend!

We were thinking to have another one either in Duesseldorf or Hamburg if we get help with organisation ;o)

Uwe & Wolfgang,

I'm safely back home! Uwe - THANKS so much for picking me up at such an ungodly hour this morning!!! My car is WONDERFUL so it was worth all the effort. I had an EXCELLENT trip back home and got a good suntan in the process I then washed my car, drove around the city centre for kicks, went back to my apartment, did a bit of polishing, and had three beers at the same time...I live above a pub, and they brought me free drinks so that they could look at my beautiful car)!!!

I went to the pub thereafer and carried on quenching my sun & adrenaline induced thirst....phew! I have not been drunk in some time!!!

My wife is supposed to be home from abroad tonight but is "stuck" till Monday night because of airport strikes in the UK! If I had known I would have stayed in Frankfurt for the night

I look forward to you guys visiting SOON!

Cheers & THANKS again! MARK

you both look very familiar!

I grew up in Frankfurt and am sure our paths must have crossed somewhere.

Which part of Frankfurt do you live? Uwe, you are somewhere near Neu Isenburg, right? 06202 area code.

Man, I could go for one of those Weizen right now....

A great time was had by all and the meeting will soon reconvene!
