Sebastian, thats o.k. and all in good fun (you know me). But just my 5 Cents & thoughts. If somebody wants to get such insider infos and try to force me for more & more details. I wanted to know to whom I type and where does he comes from. `Cause all the goodies (AvD & Insurance) are only available for GERMAN FCD members. Wolfgang FORZA FERRARI |

Wolfgang, c'mon, be a nice guy. I don't think Telson wanted us the be angry about his posts...it was just some misunderstanding and to small information for "externals" to understand why that all happened. It's ok for me... Thanks Telson, whish you all a nice weekend www.car-elite.com |

about 350 p.a. + one-off 350 Thanks for the hard facts, so if you ignore the rip-offs they have on offer, don't have to mingle with them, add in the decent insurance discount, then that isn't too bad a deal at all, is it ;-) Best, |

Know what? This discussion is kind of senseless. But I have some human characteristic left in me and try to make the points clearmaybe we then can close this topic. The FCD offers you as a member: # the official mag (5x p.a.) # the mag Ferrari World (4x p.a.) # the official Ferrari Magazine # special insurance conditions # special prices for Ferrari stuff all that and a bit more is about 350 p.a. and a single entry fee of 350 - too much would you say. But when I join the FCD and get my insurance for 2500 instead of 4000 you as a broker should see that this step cant be mistake when searching for a cheap car insurance |

Gosh, the FCD understandably seems to be a very sensitive subject, lol. We all know what the FCD is, how much it costs and what possibilities you have by being a member. Nope. Apparently not. I don't find it particularly attractive to see a public offer for an organization where only the benefits are touted, and you have to do a search before you find the cons: "the FCD (Ferrari Club Deutschland) will start its 25th anniversary from the 07/09/2003 to the 07/13/2003 in Baden Baden. Every member must pay 750,- Euros + 750,- Euros extra for your wife just for the party. Price includes 1 dinner & 1 brunchthats it!!! Hotel rates are extra for 200,-Euros/per night. Driving on the race track and Vogesen round trip in a group are extra 220,- Euro + 180,- co-pilot. So if you want to join the meeting as a member you must be ready to pay for 3 days (incl. your wife) 2.600,- Euros + ????" Best, |

I AM a member of the FCD for about 2 months now. As you can read in my posting below I was searching for insurance for my new Maser - is a Maser a Ferrari? No. So I don't think it's clear to everyone that a FERRARI club has also an insurance option for Maseratis. And about what you said in your last sentence...what the others do is their own prob. We all know what the FCD is, how much it costs and what possibilities you have by being a member. Let people decide on their own what they want...I also did that. We don't make an ad for the FCD, we just inform each others...that's FChat Europe. www.car-elite.com |

Hi Wolfgang, thanks for posting that. The point still remains, though, that in order to get the cheap insurance you need to become a member. Now, how much is a simple annual membership with FCD then that doesn't oblige you to any further payments? Best, PS, I'm not asking for myself, but as this has been brought up on a public forum, I guess the whole equation should be presented, as in total costs including membership of FCD, as a prerequisite for the "cheap" insurance.

Sebastian, if you're a member of FCD, you would have known about the insurance available through them. Other's who are not members wouldn't have known, and they most probably wouldn't have realized what kind of a rip-off club they need to join just to get the "cheap" insurance. Best,

Telson, o.k. you want to know the whole story? Here we go. The FCD is and was just a Ferrari drivers club. Only for owners. The FCD is now 25 years old and LAST year, they made an arrangment with the AvD (Automobile Club) and the XXX Versicherung. The grosbeak didn`t get higher! Now, with our unchanged grosbeak, the member of the FCD is also a member of the AvD. So if we get in some trouble with our cars on the highway we have a special repair or pick-up service and won`t get charged of it. The grosbeak is paid direct from the FCD to the AvD for any registerd member. We only have to show our FCD and AvD Card. Thats it! About the insurance: The president and the XXX insurance worked out a contract for Ferrari owners of the FCD. `cause most registered and driven Ferraris in Germany are members of the FCD. But once again, this happened last year! We were already members of the FCD and didn`t know it B4! The charge is the same now! We (the FCD members) just have to call the insurance company, tell them that we are members, let them know our membership number and we make the contract and payment direct without any charges for the FCD!!! So once again. We signed B4 they made the contract and for other reasons the membership! The problems with the FCD is still there (but doesn`t matter with the insurance) and should not be discussed here. We (the members) discuss this inside the FCD and our monthly crackerbarrel. Wtf...? Telson, you ain't got the point. You couldn't know that I am already a member of the FCD and do not need to join just because of the insurance. Wolfgang just gave me the hint to check that out. So don't blame him... www.car-elite.com |

Hi Wolfgang, you wrote: The contract is just and only between you and the insurance company. No money for the FCD!!!!! But isn't the whole point that if you want this "cheap" insurance you first have to become a member of this highly unsavory organization ????? Wolfgang: As a member of the FCD you have a very, very special rate at the "XXXXXX" Versicherung...more tomorrow over phone.

Telson, please discern between the FCD and the insurance company! The FCD made an exclusive contract with a big insurance company. The company made this contract `cause there are over 600 Ferrari members and drivers in the FCD. So it made sense for them. Nobody can top this price! The FCD and all the trouble with Baden-Baden 25 Anniv. party and so on is absolut true and sucks to all off us. But this is another party! The contract is just and only between you and the insurance company. No money for the FCD!!!!! Please feel free to call me (see profile for my phone numbers) for more infos about the insurance. I don`t want to bring somebody to the FCD. I only wanted to let you know, that there is always a possibility for a low car insurance. Wolfgang FORZA FERRARI |

Quote: As a member of the FCD you have a very, very special rate Unquote FCD ? Hmm... Sounds more like a scam / rip-off than anything else...
