I'm surprised that WD40 did not get the job done, I use it all the time for road tar and other crap. One time I left a freshly waxed car under a tree and got zillions of small pitch dots. I ended up having to strip the paint back down and rewax. This was with the old Blue Coral stwo step process consisting of a very mild rubbing compound followed by a paint sealer. |

Thanks a lot guys. The WD40 didn't work but I will try the other products. This is tough stuff. |

De-Solv-It Tar & Bug remover - orange oil extract - is terrific. Don't know about availability in Clovis but their web site is www.rcr.com.au There probably is an equivalent product over there.

WD-40 works great on removing tar, emblem tape and other gooey type adhesives, and it's gentle on the paint. Don't know how well it works on sap; give it a try. |

I use dish soap, but I'm not washing a Ferrari either. Here are a couple old threads: SOB...how do you get tree sap off without harming the paint? What is the best chemical or method to remove old tar/sap?? |

Darn pitch. Big drops on the paint and some has dried. How do you guys get this stuff off without damaging the finish? Thanks for the suggestions in advance. |
