And then you need to play with/angle the cover to disengage the windage tray (attached baffles that keep the oil from moving to one side during hard cornering. My experience is that with your 1/2" drop you are indeed hanging up on the windage tray and that the dipstick tube and temp sensor will foul the cover(with windage tray attached)after you have disengaged the tray from obstructions by the above procedure. The dipstick and the sensor foul after the tray is 2-3" down at least that is how I recall it. The truth is that until you actually get it out and off you are just not sure that it ever will come off. I almost gave up and put mine back on the the first time that I did it. Good luck Don |

You've got to remove the lower dipstick tube and a temp sensor IIRC: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/1548.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/812.html |

1982 308 gtsi tried to remove oil pan but after removing all bolts will not come all the way off seems stuck on something, only comes off about 1/2 inch. Could it be sending unit or transmission link keeping it from coming off? |
