I think I won the biggest loser award, let me know if anyone has me beat. I put my deposit down on the 488 June 2015 and my car has not been build yet. My dealer is estimating I should get it in Nov which will end up being 2 years 5 months for a 488 Coupe. Is there anyone who has had to wait longer? I bet I win the longest wait award for this model.

That's a long time. Is this your first Ferrari? You can probably find a lightly used 488 GTB below MSRP now.

It will be my third Ferrari. I had a 2004 360 spider from 2010-2013 and a 2013 458 Spider from 2013-present time. Bought both used. Paid $325K ($10K over msrp for my 458 spider). Been a continuous Ferrari owner and had all my service done at dealership since 2010.

I got my allocation March 31, 2017. My 488 will be built in the next month (some custom specs and extracampario (sp) items) finished in Oct, deliver Nov.

HAs anyone waited longer (or even remotely as long?) Let's hear your 488 story! People are saying the 488 is not in demand, well based on build time it sure seems like they are.

Is this your first new car? Current wait time for 488 coupe is 6 months tops for a first time buyer

488 GTBs aren't in demand, your dealer is just taking the mickey. Get one used, 3 years for a car that already seems outdated when compared to it's current rivals is just a harsh joke. Get it used and find another dealer, good luck

Do you own a 488? If so how long did you wait? If not then it sounds like all you know is hearsay.

you are not allowed to get another dealer in the USA. You must use your local dealer if you are within 100 miles of a dealer.

I just selected my options for the 488 GTB late July but my deposit was taken early March of this year. No production date given yet.

Most wait times are 6-9 months for a coupe. Maybe it's because of your build?

Not sure what the allocation list of your dealer looks like without having a look at the books, but I doubt the demand is higher than Southern California. I recall having seen a thread of a fellow fchatter not long ago who has received a time quote of under 6 months for his car without previous purchase of a used car.

I do know it from first hand experience as I make a living selling cars like these :)

    Edit: Found the thread

So you read on the Internet about a guy who says he leased a car (and as such the dealer made more money) so he got his car in under 6 months. Ok I agree that is somewhat useful info but I wouldnt say you have first hand experience ordering a 488. Leasing and buying are different, leasing enables the dealer to make money off the financing. It does show they can be had much quicker than I got mine.

I'm wondering about if there are any other people who DID have to wait a long time like 2 years. I already know about all the quick allocations.

We've all heard about the fast allocations (often people who have had multiple Fcars or for other reasons can get them fast). This thread is about SLOW allocations. I want to see if there are people out there like me that have to wait 2 + years.

Ky1e...I waited about 15 months to get my build date and then a few months before I got the car. It was not as long as you have had to wait and, in my case, I was fine with the wait.

There is a difference between taking a deposit and assigning an dealer allocation to a build slot.

Apart from taking a deposit, when did the dealer give you an allocation spot and a firm order into the factory??

    -I gave the deposit 6/15
-Late 2016 they said come in to spec out the car my allocation would be soon.
-They called me 3/17 and said come in to finalize specs, I got my allocation/build spot. I went in and confirmed my specs. They said it would be about 5 months until I got the car.
-I waited 5 months and last week asked for the Modis info. (Actually I asked 7 times since May and they never got me any info, I got so fed up that they wouldnt even give me basic info or return my emails that last week I asked for my deposit back. 10 min after asking for my deposit back they finally gave me some info and the attachments below).
-The first print out below is my cusotmer profile showing this this my third Ferrari adn that I own a 458 Spider. It also shows on wait list 3/9/16.
-The second print out has order date info and says Dealer Order date 3/9/16 and shows waiting list as 12/31/16.
-I have a separate print out that shows my ordered was approved by Ferrari 3/17

I asked why deposit done on 6/15 but system shows my wait list date as date as 3/9/16 one place and 12/31/16 in a different place (1 1/2 year later than the real deposit date of 6/15). They said Ferrari has a procedure and determines when you can be put on the actual list depending on your points and standing with Ferrari and there was nothing they could do about that.

See attachment for details. (I blocked off my name, salesman name)

Not here in the UK either.....

6m from walking in with your deposit to driving your car seems very unlikely.....12m here in the UK

I asked Ferrari of Beverly Hills to put me on the list for an F430 spider in 2005.

    I received it mid 2008.
