We had that car at our shop for a long time. The level of craftsmanship of the engine swap is excellent. The car ran great and it not an over the top race conversion. All of the aspects of the car were well thought out. It is the ultimate version of a 512bb.

It doesn't have a BAR sticker or SB100 sticker on it, so I don't think that it can be registered in California, too bad. It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

As the owner of this custom car I can say it was a long journey with a few detours and mistakes along the way!

Shipping the car to Paul Newman was the best thing that happened and the results are a wonderfully usable and fun car to drive. Handles like a modern car, is fast,
sounds awesome, looks great and is like getting an almost new car.

Would be a great car for the rally trips and group drives and even has working AC.

Seeing this car on public roads, it immediately demands your attention.

Its the legendary 512M engine with 500+- miles on it, custom headers back and new paint. Paul did a great job and the results are very nice.

So what did it sell for ?

All these resto mods with ls3 engines at Bj are getting ridiculous numbers.

Does a resto mods Ferrari gain that luck ?

Thats a good price for a very non original car. ferraris usualy need maranello air in the tires to fetch top dollar.
Its also a really good buy given the condition of the car, and it being what is probably the best driving and fastest road boxer in existance.

It does look beautiful even though it's not original. It's a car for drivers not queen collectors. Paul does stellar work.

I have the Carobu upgraded BB512 w/ 471 hp and 399 ft-lbs. Lowered suspension. What is kinda unique is that other than the non-stock exhaust and [required] larger radiator everything else looks stock. I do have the original exhaust system in boxes. No intention of putting it back on though. The spaghetti-design of the original BB exhaust system never made much sense to me. Unfortunately the car has spent the last few years in FL. Not many great drives there. I did take it to Sebring and Watkins Glen. Although not a great track car it's still fun to drive. When my NC dream garage is complete BB 35411 will move to the mountains. Wahooo!!!!! She will be happier here than in straight-road and steamy FL.

are you moving from Florida to nc?
It is amazing how boxers can become fully realized. Basically the bbs were built during a Ferrari lazy period. Now it’s possible to fully realize the car in a way Ferrari could not back then.

In short. Emissions and tires held the car back. Now with better understanding of pistons heads and co bust ion the motor can come into its own.

ire’s have come a huge way too.

bottom line 470 ho ie up more than 100.
Even a BBI with the stick fi and looking completely stock can be a 400hp car with far snappier response.

we’re talking 288 performance plus in a 200k classic ferrari. What’s not to like.

Yup.....moving to NC from FL. Being originally from DE then FL now NC we are referred to as "halfbacks". N to S then 1/2 way back.

I recently started a thread about building a garage in NC. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/my-dream-garage-in-the-mountains.615517/

I was at RM for three days and it was hard to take my eyes off it. It just looks like pure sex! Wish I wasn't such a die hard for originality..
Ideal setup would be this black car and an original side by side.
