I've got more pics but not from Ferrari. Just this one from the 1983 British Grand Prix: http://xs206.xs.to/xs206/06366/1983_GB_PROST_1.jpg
Watkins Glen 1973 again. One of my favorite combinations is Ickx/Redman here in chassis #0896 which finished second. My records show this to be the last 312PB built. Fabulous cars! Image Unavailable, Please Login
wow just read through the entire thread, great stuff!! Any one have any Daytona 1967 pictures with the three P cars? Especially high-res?
WRONG ! the austrian founder of the "ecurie vienne" and owner of 250 GTO 3505GT was named Dr. Gunther Plachetta. he was a doctor, but became famous as an actor. he used the name Gunther Philipp as actor. this was not his real name. he dies some years ago in vienna.
And here's another 312PB #0894 with Schenken/Peterson at Brands, folowed by the Lola T280 of Wisell/Larrousse Image Unavailable, Please Login
but then its true name. it is how? ? ? "dt Plachetta" in race. "Gunther Philipp" in movie and in the life ? ? ?
his real name is (was) Dr. Gunther Placheta ! born 8.june 1918, he was working as a doctor for about seven years, most time at the university clinic of vienna. In 1949 he decided to live his life as an artist. he was at the famous Reinhardt-seminar at vienna, austrias most important school for actors. he acted in about 150 movies, most of them comedies. another very sucessful action was his career as swimmer, with austrian records and even an european record. as "constantine" he was three times austrian GT-racing champion and founder of the ecurie vienne. the pic shows gunther philipp with his 250 SWB 2839GT at the austrian airfield race Aspern. don´t know who owns the copyright of the pic, hope no one minds posting it. very interesting personality - isn´t it ! Only just registered and couldn't help but browse through the whole thread. It leaves me a bit breathless, but as far as I noticed this old question above remains unanswered. The car (in post 915) is definitely an AMS. Four of them seem to have taken the start of 1972 Targa Florio, all powered by 1-litre Ford-Cosworth engines. On another note, Marcel, are you now fully satisfied that the car you photographed in Monza in 1967 is indeed P2 0828?
Here is one for the Tifosi to contemplate. Appears to be an ordinary Dino Street car? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just to be sure - this is a 206GT - the 206S is a different car - in fact the tail of the NART 206S (or SP as it is also known) can be seen in the foreground. Check it against the 206GT tail. Nathan
"Here is one for the Tifosi to contemplate. Appears to be an ordinary Dino Street car?" David, Do you have any other photos of this NART 206GT #38 1969 Sebring? I am trying to have a model made of this car to add to my NART collection. http://public.fotki.com/GMann/chinetti_-_nart/ The car is a very dark blue by the way. There is a photo on the Racing Sports Cars website. Other than yours, it is the only other one I have seen. Gil
I found this one for you on the web. Nice models you have. On which picture did you base the 712 at Road america 1972 Image Unavailable, Please Login
thank you very much for this information. me I have many victories of the Doctor: amongst other things: 16/4/61 Vienne-Aspern 250 GT Berlinetta 2839GT 18/6/63 Gp de Vienne Wien-Aspern 250 GTO 3505GT 6/10/63 Gp du Tirol - Innsbruck 250 GTO 3505 ?/?/63 Gp d'Autriche - Zeltweg 250 GTO 3505 ?/?/63 Hochalpen race 250 GTO 3505 ?/?/63 course de cote Platsch 250 GTO 3505 1964 champion d'Autriche 250 GTO 3505 11/4/65 Gp de Vienne/Curd Barry Gedenkrennen - Aspern 250 GT Berlinetta 2839GT race number 100 and plaque MO 75722 ?
Not possible as 2839 was not completed until late in 1961. If you are referring to the photo shown in this thread, it must have been in 1962 or 1963.
"I found this one for you on the web." Yes, I have that one. "Nice models you have. On which picture did you base the 712 at Road america 1972." I bought the model built up. I only substituted some better sponsor decals. You can purchase your own here: http://www.ghostmodels.com/ I do have some photos of the actual car, but it will take me a while to look them up.
michael platzer you seem to know Doctor Plachetta well. knows you if it has to gain others victoireS as? or? and on which models and s/n? in advance thank you
Both of these are from Bridgehampton, NY in 1964. The first is some sort of pre-race parade with the Willemen 166 Motta bodied car. I do not know which car is along side? The second is a pair of Fcars "goin for it". Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The N.A.R.T 330P of John Fulp & The Scuderia Bear 250LM of Bob Grossman, at the Bridgehampton Double 500. In the same race of 1965, Scuderia Bear entered the 250LM again (chassis #5909) driven by Holquist, finishing 8th.
