I ordered new air intake trunking from Ricambiamerica, and I have to say there service and help was great! I am in Australia and in got to me in a few days.
Any input if any one else has done this job would be great as to how you fixed trunking at car side intake end.

I managed to use the end cap at the air box end by pushing the trunking into the groove but at the side intake end I could only slide the trunking on without the end cap. Its so tight in there I could not even get a cable tie or hose clamp to fully secure it . It's on pretty tight so I don't think it will slide off, I have not drive tested it yet though (raining to much just now) but will get my mechanic to secure it if needed when in for next service as I am guessing on a hoist or wheel off would give better access to tightly secure. Attached some photo's for your thoughts interest.Tony

Thought trunking might be a down under slang thing.

Seeing it isn't, a further search finds trunking to be an building
construction engineering term for 'a pipe or shaft for conducting foul or heated air from a room'. Nice photo spread.

    Note: Tony's question still stands

did you have the wheel off and the wheel well liner out?

I would have guessed that you take the entire part out of the car, remove the end pieces from the old part and put them on the new hose, then reinstall.

Getting the scoop end on from the top is doable - the easiest way seems to be to shove the end down from above and stick your hand through the scoop into the end cap, then pull it onto the scoop.

btw, without the foam inside the hose, can you hear the exhaust air injection checkvalves clacking during warm-up? Seems like the foam dampened that noise a bit, but since the foam hose is NLA, ya put up with it.

your pic with the silver insulation is already hack. The original had foam with a black plastic/vinyl outer sleeve. Removing the disintegrating bits, wrapping some foam filter (like used in the air vent boxes, though a bit denser would be nice) around the screen core, and wrapping the whole thing with something solid black should work. The trick is what to use for the wrap (yeah, black duct tape works, but it's not pretty). Really need a large diameter heat-shrink tube or something. Any suggestions?

No I did not have the weel off etc, I think if I had I may have been able to do the same as at the air filter end, With the trunking pushed into the end cap it makes it very tight and using the method you said (reaching in through the the scoop and pull on) I just could not pull it on,just to tight so I put the trunking straight over the scoop. I may try again, maybe with the end cap heated in hot water just before sliding it on, it just might work? have not driven her yet as bad weather over here just now but will keep you all posted. Any one with input as to there methods would be most welcome.Tone
